Identity and Release History

In the world of perfumery, where every fragrance tells its story, Moschino Toy Boy emerges as a bold statement, released in 2019.

This perfume, created under the guidance of Yann Vasnier, is part of the Toy collection, which reflects the playful and ironic aesthetic of the brand.

The Italian house Moschino, founded by the extravagant designer Franco Moschino in 1983, has challenged conservative fashion from the very beginning.

Its philosophy, built on irony, bright colors, and bold social statements, instantly turned Toy Boy into a symbol of modern masculinity, where traditional boundaries are blurred in favor of creative self-expression.

Positioning and Character

Positioned as a men's fragrance, Moschino Toy Boy offers a universal charm that can also appeal to lovers of unisex perfumery.

With perfume water in the Eau de Parfum format, it provides a rich and long-lasting resonance, ideal for those seeking something more than just freshness.

Its medium trail creates an elegant and unobtrusive trace, allowing the fragrance to unfold gradually, enveloping you in a warm and memorable cloud.

For an optimal impression, it is recommended to use 1 to 2 sprays on the skin and 2 to 3 sprays on clothing, which ensures a balance between intimacy and projection.

Thanks to spicy and woody accents, Toy Boy is perfect for cool seasons and evening events, adding confidence and charisma to any scenario.

If you resonate with this aesthetic, it is worth noting similar fragrances such as Montale Roses Musk, Parfums de Marly Delina, and Lalique Perles De Lalique, which also explore the facets of floral-woody compositions.

Author and Influence

Behind this daring creation is the talented Yann Vasnier, a perfumer known for his ability to blend classical elements with modern interpretations.

His work on Toy Boy emphasizes how a fragrance can become an extension of the brand's philosophy, reflecting the playfulness and boldness inherent in Moschino.

This release strengthened the house's reputation as an innovator in the industry, demonstrating that perfumery can be both art and statement.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Moschino Toy Boy begins its journey with a bright and refreshing chord, where bergamot meets spicy cloves and fruity pear, creating an intriguing start.

In the heart of the composition, delicate floral shades unfold, such as magnolia and rose, enriched with warm cashmeran, adding depth and softness.

The fragrance finishes in the base with powerful Ambermax and Sylkolide, which intertwine with earthy vetiver, leaving a lasting and cozy trail.

This multi-layered nature makes Toy Boy dynamic and memorable, inviting you to explore every note on your skin.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

A fragrance that can boldly be called niche, presented in a rather unusual bottle, reminiscent of a child's toy. The question immediately arises: what can one expect from it? But, upon opening it, I discovered an amazing combination of freshness, floral, and spicy notes. The rose sounds very natural, as if freshly picked, with green leaves, sharp thorns, and dewdrops on the petals. Cashmeran adds depth, with notes of amber, wood, spices, and musk, which gives the fragrance longevity and substance. Overall, this is indeed an interesting and multifaceted perfume ))))

If we're talking unisex, it's more for the youth. It would suit, for example, a rebel girl or a rock-style woman who wears a black leather jacket 😔

The fragrance is definitely for those who are young, bold, and not afraid to stand out. It's clearly aimed at youth, with characteristic masculine notes, but floral and fruity accents add an interesting touch. This combination makes it special and a little daring ))))

Moschino finally made us happy! 😊 The scent is just super, I don't agree with those who say otherwise. It's perfectly balanced and well-constructed, leaning more towards spices, which is ideal for winter. I didn't quite understand why the ad has a 70s style, maybe they think it will sell better that way, but it won't work for us. Something else is needed, otherwise people will be scared. But the scent itself is really cool - the pear isn't too sweet, and the rose is very restrained. Overall, everything is top-notch, and it definitely deserves a place on a true connoisseur's shelf! 🎉

This fragrance is a real find for my husband, and I can't help but love it too. As soon as he sprays it, everyone around starts looking. The scent is strong and long-lasting, with an absolutely magnificent sillage. Although the bottle looks quite cute, something more serious is hidden inside. The bear is cute, of course, but the fragrance is a completely different story )

The fragrance is actually quite good. I agree that it can be called unisex, although many claim it's masculine. Sweetness and uniqueness combined with woody and spicy notes create an interesting effect, and the leather accent adds mystery. I used to think the bottle looked terrible, but now, looking at it in black, I feel it has its own appeal

Although the brand states that this perfume is for men, I think it's perfectly suitable for women too. On the skin, it reveals bitter green notes and a light bergamot. It reminds me of one of Frédéric Malle's fragrances. In summer, it will be excellent for refreshing and lifting the mood. And the bottle - that's a separate joy, both for the eyes and for the hands 🌸

When testing the fragrance, I didn't even notice it was meant for men. The scent sounds too artificial, the sweetness and plastic undertone are clearly noticeable. Clove tries to pull the whole composition together, but in the end, it turned out quite mediocre 😒

The fragrance is truly versatile, though some might disagree. I prefer to wear it in spring, cool summer, and warm autumn. It's very bright. The elemi note stands out excellently. For me, I also sense cola with bubbles, a fresh woody smell, and a magnificent rose against this backdrop. The perfume is simply excellent, and its consumption is minimal

The fragrance left me puzzled, I can't exactly say what it smells like, but one thing is clear - it's really interesting. The bottle, which didn't attract attention before, now seems quite appealing. In the dark version, it looks much better than the light one 😔

The fragrance is generally not bad, but there's something strange about it. It seems it could suit both men and women. Girls should try it, maybe on your skin it will reveal itself in a new way and become interesting. But the advertisement in the photo is a bit confusing

The perfume is quite interesting, although it reminds me of Black XS, but with an ironic approach. It has its own style, and it doesn't try to become iconic like Paco Rabanne products. It starts with cold notes of pepper and ginger, then cardamom and nutmeg are added. In the freshness of the fragrance, herbal and dusty nuances are felt, which dry it out a bit. At this stage, it reminded me of my beloved Lalique Equus edp, and it's strange that no one noticed this similarity.

Soon, a rose accord is added to the spicy coolness, which softens the overall background and sets the direction. The fragrance begins to develop in the right direction. Abstract flowers appear, and a vetiver undertone adds softness and humidity. Cashmeran and silkolide molecules are responsible for the modern sound. The first gives warmth and fluffiness, and the second unites all notes, creating a feeling of lightness. Silkolide sometimes resembles rubber, which can be perceived as a leather note.

I can't say that this is a fragrance for the luxury or niche segment - it's mass-market, and it's very well made, even excellent for its category. I have a 30 ml teddy bear shaped bottle, which fits perfectly on the shelf. Large bottles look like vases, but this one is cute and compact. I think this youthful fragrance will be an excellent gift and a base for a line with various flankers, sweet and spicy

The scent is quite pleasant, doesn't cause discomfort, and is easy to wear. Its sweetness is moderate, not overwhelming, and the woody accents add interest. In my opinion, it turned out to be more captivating than the women's version

Moschino Toy Boy is an example of how advertising and the product itself can completely mismatch. Remember that guy in the cap with the bear? I expected something bolder, but in reality, the bear turned out to be a truly sweet creature with a bouquet of roses and light notes of vetiver, pepper, as well as musk and cashmeran. It reminds me of Blackpepper by Comme des Garçons. And, you know, despite marketers trying to label it "for men," that absolutely shouldn't stop girls! The contents of the bottle are truly versatile and suitable for everyone!!

A gothic scarlet rose growing in an abandoned garden by an old castle? Oh come on, that's nonsense! Honestly, I don't understand how you can switch from regular men's fragrances to such rubbish. It's beautiful, sure, but overall it's just unisex, and I myself would only wear such a rose for a special occasion. But a whole bottle? That's overkill!! I don't know who might like it, but it definitely didn't work for me
