Nivea Eau de Toilette: The Debut Fragrance of a Legendary Brand

In 2015, Nivea, a brand associated with skincare for over a century, introduced its first perfume — eau de toilette Nivea Eau de Toilette.

This release became a symbolic step, dedicated to the famous white cream created in 1911, and aimed to recreate its familiar scent from childhood in the form of an elegant bottle reminiscent of the original packaging.

Working on this project, perfumer Isabelle Abram sought not only to accurately convey the notes of the cream but also to evoke the same warm emotions as the original product.

As a result, a delicate and touching fragrance was created, instantly recognizable and serving as the aromatic business card of the brand, strengthening its heritage in the world of perfumery.

Composition and Character of the Fragrance

The Floral character of Nivea Eau de Toilette is built on a blend of refreshing citrus, fragrant flowers, and cozy powdery chords.

The composition includes notes such as bergamot, freesia, and sandalwood, creating a soft and comfortable bouquet that gradually unfolds on the skin.

A detailed description of the note pyramid and its development is presented in a separate section, where you can learn how each note contributes to the overall harmony.

For Whom and How to Wear Nivea Eau de Toilette

This fragrance is positioned as feminine and is perfect for daily use, thanks to its medium sillage, which does not overpower but gently accompanies throughout the day.

The recommended dosage is 2 to 3 sprays on the skin and the same on clothing, ensuring optimal longevity without overloading, making it ideal for the office, meetings, or relaxed weekends.

If you like this gentle style, check out similar fragrances: Tommy Hilfiger Tommy Girl Summer 2009, Jo Malone Sakura Cherry Blossom (2015), and Faberlic Rose and Sandalwood.

They offer alternative interpretations of floral themes, expanding your perfume wardrobe.

Creative Approach of Isabelle Abram

Perfumer Isabelle Abram successfully embodied the spirit of the brand in Nivea Eau de Toilette, combining tradition with modern sensuality.

Her work highlights how perfumery can enhance the emotional connection with skincare products, making this fragrance a significant step in the history of Nivea.

This release not only marks a century of trust in the brand but also opens new horizons in its perfume line, attracting fans who appreciate comfort and nostalgia.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. Seven years ago, Nivea unexpectedly surprised everyone by releasing a fragrance that resembled their famous cream in the blue tin. In the first few months, it could only be found in stores in Germany, and I know people who asked acquaintances to bring it back from trips. Now, the assortment has significantly expanded, and several flankers have been added to the first eau de toilette, which, frankly, aren't very memorable. The first version is still the most interesting, and many buy Nivea perfumery precisely to enjoy the scent of this cream without waiting for it to absorb 🌸

I expected more from this fragrance, hoping it would resemble the cream from the Nivea tin. At first, I thought I was smelling exactly that, but in reality, it's a completely different scent, although I still like it. It's more of a powdery fragrance with creamy notes of yellow ylang-ylang 🌼

the scent, on the one hand, indeed evokes associations with Nivea cream, but there's something alien in it that spoils the overall impression. for those who strive for unity of scents in their cosmetic bag, it might suit, but don't expect joy from it. overall, the feeling remains bitter, as if something important is slipping away

The creators really managed to accurately reproduce the scent of Nivea cream from the blue tin. This will definitely delight fans!!! But, unfortunately, I don't like such perfumes, and that's why I didn't want to buy a whole bottle

Such fragrances always bring joy to a perfume wardrobe. There's a feeling of freshness, like you've just stepped out of the shower, and the scent reminds me of a delicate cream. Musky, white - that's exactly how it can be described 🌸

They couldn't convey that Nivea scent. There's no creamy note, it rather resembles dry powder with synthetic lily of the valley. There's a sense of sterile cleanliness, perhaps someone might like that 🤔
