To the fragrance: M.INT Hit The Mark

This citrus-chocolate Hit the Mark by M.Int, created by Philippine Courtière, is simply unbearable. Yes, she certainly did something funny and pleasant with Rose Pompon for Annick Goutal, but here it's clearly overdone. Biscuit cookies in chocolate with orange marmalade? Seriously? That's already too sweet. Vanilla freckles and a lively start of neroli with jasmine - it all sounds like an attempt to please everyone at once. And in the background, this marzipan of heliotrope and myrrh - simply awful. Longevity, of course, is there, but that doesn't make it beautiful. Overall, I don't recommend it

To the fragrance: Parfums Dusita Splendiris

At Pissara Umavijani's stand at Esxence, there was a real buzz, like a beehive, as everyone searched for a name for the latest fragrance. The bottle, resembling a lilac lollipop, became a true Instagram star - it seems only those who weren't at the exhibition didn't post about it. Dusita continues to stir minds, and the excitement around it is understandable. Splendiris is indeed one of the most exquisite and pure works presented at the last Esxence. Iris, like a pale flower under the cold March sun, attracts those who appreciate understated beauty but still want to wear something more life-affirming

The scent reminds me of freshly washed linen left out in the cold spring wind. Musk and aldehydes clearly dominate here, creating a dense, almost waxy background. It's not really a perfume, more like something you'd find in cheap laundry gels. Memories of something more real and profound get lost in this simplicity

To the fragrance: Gritti Dame De L'Île

Over ten years, the Venetians Gritti have built an image of expensive Italian perfumery, associated with long sillage and rare releases. Luca Gritti, by launching the "white" line, clearly targeted the Russian audience, and it seems he didn't miss - the coconut-musky Tutù Blanc has already been dubbed "the new Baccarat." But there are more interesting fragrances in the collection. For example, Dame de L'Île is an excellent example of how notes of golden powder compacts, loose blush, and a passion one would want to write a whole book about can be combined in a single bottle 📖

To the fragrance: Korloff Paris Iris Dore

Last year, Korloff could have easily taken first place in the "level-up" nomination. The new collection of four fragrances in black bottles is simply stunning, and after it, all previous experiments by art directors are forgotten. It's interesting that the fragrances are composed in a completely different style - more mature and conscious. Iris Dore especially stands out. This is that iris that doesn't immediately come to mind. Here, a thick fragrant lipstick of rhizomes and aldehydes seems to lie on a loose pile of finely ground juniper ice, and their aromas occasionally intertwine. like old lovers who have something to talk about after another night together

Amber is probably the simplest fragrance family for autumn. Warm, sweetish compositions that pair perfectly with cashmere stoles and the autumnal mood that descends in October. In the best perfumery versions, the amber accord is complemented by the tartness of cognac and a swirling character. For example, in Giorgio Armani's Ambre Eccentrico, amber beautifully combines with warm myrrh and caramel-woody notes 🍂

To the fragrance: Mugler A*Men Kryptomint

The launch of Kryptomint in Mugler's men's line became a real event in recent years. Almost all perfume bloggers and reviewers talked about it when it first appeared on the market. Last year, the brand introduced Ultimate, which also delights with the freshness of icy mint, but without the bitter chocolate against a patchouli background. The question of whether this was an improvement remains open. However, in 2017, Mugler's After Eight fragrance caused a real stir, especially against the backdrop of the calmer launch of Alien Man
