Versus: A Bold Take on Femininity

In 2010, the perfume world welcomed Versace Versus, a fragrance that became part of the Versus collection.

This eau de toilette, released under the aegis of the legendary Italian house, immediately declared itself as a challenge to traditions, offering a fresh and energetic perspective on femininity.

The fragrance belongs to the Floral and Fruity families, perfectly combining romance and dynamism, and continues to inspire girls seeking bold accents in their perfume collection.

Creative Duet: The Energy of Donatella Versace and the Mastery of Nathalie Lorson

Behind the creation of Versus are two outstanding names: Donatella Versace, who embodied the brand's spirit, and Nathalie Lorson, who brought her perfumery expertise.

Their collaboration gave birth to a fragrance that reflects the boldness and sensuality characteristic of Versace, while remaining accessible and modern, like the entire Versus collection, aimed at a young audience.

This tandem gave the composition a unique character, balancing between audacity and elegance.

Who Versus is Created For: Character and Trail

Versace Versus is a feminine fragrance, created for self-confident girls who are not afraid to stand out and value their individuality.

With a middle trail, it is perfect for daytime wear, especially during the spring and summer months, when its fruity-floral chords unfold in all their glory, filling the space with a light and attractive aura.

The fragrance is complimentary and recognizable, adding charm and energy to the wearer, making it an excellent choice for meetings with friends, work, or romantic dates.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Versace Versus begins with a vibrant start: kumquat, lemon, and star apple create a juicy and citrus chord that immediately invigorates and draws attention, promising a dynamic journey.

At the heart of the fragrance, delicate floral notes unfold: orange blossom (fleur d'orange), rose, and stephanotis, adding romance and depth while softening the initial brightness.

The base is composed of ambrette, patchouli, and musk, which provide longevity and sensuality, finishing the composition with a warm and mysterious trail.

This contrast between the freshness of the top notes and the warm base makes the fragrance dynamic and multifaceted, gradually unfolding on the skin from an invigorating start to a tender and lasting finish.

The interplay of citrus, floral, and woody groups creates a harmonious palette that is ideally suited for modern women who value balance in perfumery.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The first Versace perfume I ever bought, and what can I say? I've already used up more than one bottle. The scent is not bad, of course, but the longevity and sillage are just so-so. I smell rose and citrus, but there's something strange in it, maybe it's ambrette. Overall, it didn't really impress me much )

the fragrance is really interesting, it pleasantly surprises. it features fresh exotic fruits, as well as a light powdery rose and a hint of spices. despite its simplicity, it possesses a special charm

The fragrance is truly unique, with character and sharpness! I've never encountered anything like it before. I'm in love with it, I've known it for a long time and can't forget it. Its longevity is high, but it stays close to the skin. Best suited for evenings, any time of year. It develops much better on the skin than on clothes. The top notes are bright lemon with apple and a slightly tart kumquat. The apple here is ripe and crisp, tickles the nose and even has a slight peppery touch. Then a bitter orange blossom appears, gradually enveloping the scent of rose. It adds languor and a light smokiness. In the base, the fragrance is soft and sweetish, with ambrette notes, rose, and light citruses. This fragrance completely envelops you and doesn't let go - it's simply impossible to forget!

Versace's fragrance, in my opinion, is completely forgettable. It's an ordinary, rather boring scent that doesn't delight with its longevity and generally doesn't impress. There's really nothing much to say about it. Except maybe the packaging looks decent 😒

I almost bought this perfume for my collection, but then I realized it actually reminds me of Oriflame Midsummer Woman. Glad I managed to test it before buying. The scent is certainly pleasant, but I don't see the point in paying more when there's an affordable alternative

The scent, in my opinion, is quite light. Patchouli and apple are clearly discernible, but the fragrance isn't repulsive, not too sweet and not bitter, rather even airy. It's excellent for work - colleagues don't suffocate, as used to happen with intense oriental perfumes 🍏

The scent, in my opinion, is quite strange. I wore it all spring, and then suddenly my colleague, who had never shown any interest in me, started looking at me differently. His stares were so persistent that I even felt awkward 😳 Now I don't wear it because the associations with it aren't the most pleasant. Although the scent itself isn't bad, it's suitable for both work and walks. It feels fresh and cool, but this unexpected reaction from my colleague confused me

Citrus with notes of rose petals and musk. The sillage turns out sweet-tart. The fragrance is indeed curious, but its longevity leaves much to be desired, it's too quiet. In the end, against the backdrop of other perfumes, it somehow gets lost )

The fragrance is truly rich and deep, you can't say it's simple. It definitely won't suit active recreation or the beach. You can wear it in the office, but on a date, it would be just right

Rose is right at the forefront here. I expected more fruits, but they seem to be in the background. Although they are present, they're not as noticeable. Overall, the fragrance is quite pleasant, with a light sweetness and tartness 🌹

It was sitting on the shelf, and I had already cooled my interest in it a bit. But today I gave it a couple of sprays and was simply blown away with pleasure. It's such a soft and airy sweetness, no feeling of parquet varnish, as it sometimes seemed. An image of a plump little angel sprinkling velvety vanilla from a cloud appeared in my head. The fragrance is truly angelic, and I've fallen in love with it again!

The fragrance is quite pleasant, I can feel rose and fruits in it. It's both calming and energizing at the same time. But, unfortunately, the longevity leaves much to be desired. It seems it has been discontinued

Discontinued. The fragrance is sharp, with character, especially at the start. Gradually it becomes softer, rose appears, and musk is felt in the base. In summer, it unfolds especially beautifully, but the longevity leaves much to be desired 😔

What a cool fragrance, too bad it's been discontinued. I had several bottles, and I really love it. For me, it's associated with rose surrounded by fruits and citruses. The scent is pleasant, not too long-lasting, with a light sillage. It lifts the mood, so energetic and fills you with positivity 🌟

A great choice for those who appreciate oriental fragrances. It's not too intrusive, with a light sweet fruity hint, but it seems the lack of spices makes it less warm, allowing it to be worn even in hot weather. As for longevity, I can't say for sure, I'll have to try it later to see how it develops 🌸
