To the fragrance: Guerlain Mon Guerlain

At first glance, Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum can strike with its sugary sweetness, which immediately breaks through the light and delicate lavender scent. But soon, lavender begins to dominate, intertwining with bright, dense, yet subtle vanilla. This intertwining is so strange and effortless that at first, it's hard to understand exactly what we have before us: lavender with vanilla or vice versa. If you've ever tried lavender ice cream from Provence, this fragrance might evoke similar associations. The smooth creamy start gradually recedes, giving way to a complex, slightly intoxicating woody-fruity jasmine and an astonishingly beautiful musk that shapes the composition and gives it the elegance for which Guerlain is valued. Musk here is not the only one creating the atmosphere of the legendary House; the oriental accord also takes its place. This is a vanilla-balsamic note with smoky, sweet benzoin, a bit of powdery iris, sandalwood, and vanilla. Lavender, nevertheless, does not completely disappear. Its subtle camphoraceousness, supported by ripe woody-spicy jasmine, permeates the entire composition, creating the main contrast. The fragrance gradually fades, starting with lavender, moving to vanilla and jasmine, and ending with a beautiful sandalwood-musk effect. Personally, I like Mon Guerlain more than the toilet water version released this year. At some point, as I was exploring the fragrance, the sweetness stopped interfering with my perception, and I no longer perceived it as irritating. That's when I understood Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum and found in it what I couldn't grasp before. Perhaps the bright vanilla-sugary sweetness, reminiscent of many modern women's fragrances, appeared closer to the perfumer's final work. Just like the cyanide note of cherry pit, familiar from La Petite Robe Noire, which is responsible for the composition's geometry
