Mineral frankincense. ______________________ Larmes Du Desert is truly a tribute to the art of perfumery. It's amazing how French perfumes can so accurately convey the spirit of the Middle East. I've been to the desert several times and can say that this fragrance truly reflects one facet of this unique natural phenomenon. Alongside iconic fragrances like Andy Tauer, Victoire Gaubin Daude, Serge Lutens, and, of course, Tom Ford, Marie Salmagne created a unique bouquet of frankincense, coniferous trees, and amber, which on my skin unfolds like hot sand from the depths of the desert. The name Larmes Du Desert, which translates to "Tears of the Desert," suggests drops of precious resin, as well as a somewhat melancholic tone to the fragrance. This fragrance became especially significant for me. Firstly, it's a gift from Evgenia. Secondly, I really wanted this particular perfume from Atelier des Ors. Thirdly. Well, guys, it's frankincense. I can't be objective when it comes to it. But it took me almost a year to truly get to know this fragrance. It arrived in January, and while the package was on its way, I read everything I could find online, preparing to hear, let's be honest, Sahara Noir. These two fragrances were so strongly linked in my mind that in the first test, I got exactly what I expected, with a few nuances. It was a very dry, coniferous-cinnamon frankincense scent, dusty and sprinkled with wood shavings. It was both similar and dissimilar to Sahara. I was used to its thick balsamic resins, and the overall dryness of the new fragrance put me off a bit. In winter, Larmes Du Desert seemed unconvincing to me, a more transparent and dusty version of Tom Ford's fragrance. I put it away in a box until warmer weather. Spring brought its adjustments.
