Etat Libre d`Orange Vraie Blonde
Listen, with this 'True Blonde', damn, I've had my own hang-ups. And it's not just about the scent. It was with this very review that I started my journey in perfume journalism. Back then, I was looking for meaning where, essentially, there wasn't any, but Etat Libre d'Orange fragrances always gave me something to ponder. But that's not the main thing. Vraie Blonde is about modern erotic dreams connected to Marilyn Monroe and the American dream of a luxurious life. But it's not that simple: I suggest you solve the mystery of the name yourselves, by looking at the old packaging, just like ELdO themselves do. And the fragrance itself is a beautiful and harmonious combination of different textures: sweet aldehydic champagne, powdery-musky cocoa, and rose. Here you can catch cognac, myrrh, suede, and even light notes of sweat, but this depends on many factors, such as skin temperature and humidity. I know few fragrances where sweet, deliberately synthetic 'doll-like' champagne plays such an important role. 'Blonde' is an excellent example. If you love unusual floral-gourmand fragrances with a champagne accord and aren't afraid of its bright femininity, then Vraie Blonde is worth a try
