Albert Nipon is an American fashion designer and manufacturer of women's clothing. He was born and raised in West Philadelphia. Albert Nipon had a small dressmaking workshop in the early 1970s, but after presenting his first collection, he instantly became popular, catching the fashion world off guard. Thus the famous clothing brand Albert Nipon was born. Sales of the brand's dresses reached $60 million in 1984. Among his clients were celebrities such as Mary Tyler Moore, Rosalynn Carter, Barbara Walters, and Nancy Reagan.

The fall of the Albert Nipon brand was as swift as its rise. In 1984, he was accused of bribery and tax evasion and served time in a federal penitentiary. But designer Albert Nipon's career did not end with his incarceration. After serving his sentence, his company filed for bankruptcy in 1988, but survived as Albert Nipon licensing. His clothing collections and fragrances are still available in stores and fashion boutiques around the world.
