Brand «Boudicca Wode»

Boudicca is a perfume project of the British fashion brand and perfumer Geza Schoen, founded in 2008. Only one composition has been released under the brand name — Wode. However, the fragrance has a counterpart — Paint, which is the same composition with the addition of a blue dye that appears on the skin and clothing immediately after application and completely disappears after about 30 seconds.

Boudicca was the queen of the Britons, wife of the chieftain of the Iceni tribe, who led a military campaign against the Romans who had conquered their lands. Before battles, Iceni warriors applied blue paint to their faces to frighten enemies and identify allies on the battlefield. This paint was obtained from woad, a plant whose English name is woad. It is from this word that the fragrance name Wode derives. After defeat in battle against the Romans, Boudicca poisoned herself with hemlock. To connect the story with the fragrance, the perfumer added a note of this plant to the formula.

In addition, Geza Schoen included a composition of the same name in the brand's The Beautiful Mind Series. The color of the bottle is close to Yves Klein blue, but the liquid itself does not contain blue dye. The character of the fragrance differs from that contained in the Boudicca bottles.
