Geza Schoen

Geza Schoen

Парфюмер

Geza Schoen is not just a perfumer, but a true revolutionary and legend of modern perfumery, founder of the cult brand Escentric Molecules. His name has become synonymous with the genre of "molecular" perfumes, which have changed the perception of what a fragrance can be. This independent master, born in Kassel, Germany, began his path to fame at the age of 13 by collecting men's perfumes, and at 16 he dared to knock on the door of Haarman & Reimer to get his coveted internship.

Career and path to success

His persistence paid off: after spending a day with an experienced perfumer and then training at the company's school, in 1996, Geza presented his first independent work to the world—the fragrance Diesel. This was the starting point for a brilliant career, during which he created fragrances for such renowned houses as Clive Christian (the 1872 Masculine and X Masculine fragrances) and established a long and fruitful collaboration with the British brand Ormonde Jayne.

The Escentric Molecules Revolution

However, true worldwide fame came to Geza Schoen in 2006 when he founded his own project, Escentric Molecules. His concept was bold and minimalist: fragrances built around a single synthetic molecule, such as the iconic Iso-E-Super in Molecule 01. Each release was a pair: the pure "molecule" and its more complex "Escentric" version. This project not only became a perfumery sensation, but also sparked a global trend for molecular perfumes, bringing the master recognition far beyond the perfumery community.

The best and most popular fragrances

The perfumer's portfolio includes dozens of iconic compositions that are adored by connoisseurs around the world. In addition to the legendary Molecule 01 and Molecule 02, more complex variations of the Escentric line, such as Escentric 01 and Escentric 04, are also hugely popular. His talent has also been evident in the creation of refreshing citrus accords for Maurer & Wirtz in the fragrances Lime & Nutmeg and Wakening Woods of Scandinavia, as well as in ultra-individual niche works for Biehl Parfumkunstwerke (Gs 01 and Gs 02).

Signature style and legacy

Geza Schön's style is a bold experiment, a scientific approach to beauty and filigree work with synthetic materials. He masterfully reveals the unique properties of molecules, transforming them into hypnotic, almost invisible trails that become part of the wearer's skin. His influence on the industry cannot be overstated: he opened up a new direction, proving that minimalism and purity of concept can evoke no less emotion than complex classical compositions. Today, his fragrances, including new releases such as Molecule 01 + Mandarin, continue to inspire a new generation of perfumers and remain the subject of heated discussion and high ratings in the community.
