Catherine Lara, a native of Paris, was born on May 29, 1945 in Poissy to a doctor's family. She began learning to play the violin at age 11; her father also played the violin, so he encouraged his daughter. Catherine graduated from the Versailles Conservatory as the top student and continued her studies at the National Conservatory of Paris. Then followed various performances, and Catherine Lara began writing her own compositions.
In 1971 and 1972, two of her records were released. Subsequently, Catherine Lara collaborated with many poets. In 1982, together with Bob Decot and Annie Girardot, she created the musical "Revue et Corrigee", for which the long-closed Casino de Paris was reopened for the premiere. A year later, Catherine released two albums at once: "La rockeuse de diamants" and "Une femme libre". In 1986, the album "Nuit magique" was released, on which she worked with Sebastian Santa Maria, who later became one of her regular writers. That same year, Catherine Lara was named the best singer in France.
In 1996, wonderful numbers were written for the album "Melomanie"; later the singer worked on television and radio. In 2000, the album "Aral" was released. The famous French violinist Catherine Lara launched the fragrance Aral Un des Sens, named after one of her albums. The perfume echoes memories of a journey to the shores of the Aral Sea.
