Scents of eras: how perfume reflects the spirit of the times
Every era has its own scent. Not literally, but in how it felt: what it wanted, what it feared, what...
An intriguing collaboration between avant-garde perfumer Geza Schoen and famous couturier Karl Lagerfeld led to the creation of not only a new fragrance but also a new brand.
The creation of the fragrance was inspired by Gerhard Steidl's leaflets and the film "How to Make a Book with Steidl," where he mentions his favorite smell — freshly printed sheets.
Finally, thanks to avant-garde ideas and an unusual collaboration, a chic fragrance was created, reminiscent of many people's passion for books.
Interestingly, the fragrance, although it seems very complex, is made from just five components.
Perhaps this was an experiment, and the brand will limit itself to just one fragrance. But it may well be that soon the avant-garde duo will be able to present some even more shocking scent.
