If you are looking for a fragrance that defies convention and declares your individuality, discover Illamasqua Freak—a unisex perfume launched in 2011.
This oriental floral elixir from the British brand Illamasqua is a true anthem to boldness and nonconformity. It seems made for those who are not afraid to be different.
This provocative fragrance was created by the talented perfumer Azzi Glasser, known for her ability to combine seemingly incompatible elements.
Freak became part of Illamasqua's DNA—a brand inspired by Gothic aesthetics and German Expressionism.
It is no surprise that the composition turned out so mysterious and magnetic.
The fragrance belongs to the Oriental and Floral families, with an Eau de Parfum concentration. As a result, Freak has a noticeable, rich sillage that leaves a lasting trail.
It is a fragrance for evening outings and special occasions, when you want to attract attention and highlight your uniqueness.
The pyramid unfolds gradually: at the opening, you will sense the slightly bitter greenery of wormwood paired with the poisonous beauty of belladonna.
At its heart, a dangerous romance blooms: hemlock, cactus flower, and datura. The base is composed of resinous incense, myrrh, and noble oud.
This combination creates a mystical, slightly dark atmosphere.
This fragrance is for bold personalities who appreciate the exotic and are not afraid to be noticed. It is perfect for those seeking something unusual that can emphasize their individuality.
Its unisex positioning (unisex) makes it versatile, though it clearly appeals to lovers of Gothic aesthetics.
If you have fallen for Freak, take a look at its related versions: Illamasqua Freak Extrait de Parfum, with a more intense concentration, and Illamasqua Freak Scarab, a possible variation on the theme.

The scent is clearly present near you, but it does not fill the entire space
The perfume has a rich aroma that will help you stand out from the crowd and create a memorable image
A rich and elegant fragrance that gently unfolds on the skin and lasts most of the day, leaving a delicate trail
Perfumes for the fall and winter seasons often contain notes of vanilla, spices, ambergris, wood, and other warm accords, creating a feeling of comfort and warmth during the cold months
The composition of Illamasqua Freak opens with the bittersweet greenery of wormwood (artemisia) and the dangerous sweetness of belladonna.
At the heart of the fragrance, intoxicating accents of hemlock, exotic cactus flower, and mind-altering datura intertwine.
The base lends warmth and depth through resinous frankincense, balsamic myrrh, and woody oud.
This pyramid evokes a mystical ritual, unfolding from herbal freshness into rich, almost ecclesiastical notes.

It's very bright and spicy, but not for everyday wear. You wouldn't wear it to the office, nor would you go to the store for bread with it. Although it's positioned as unisex, I can't imagine it on a man. Woody notes are certainly present, but for me, it's more of a feminine fragrance. My husband, for example, was completely bewildered when he smelled it - he didn't like it at all
