Azzi Glasser is one of the most influential and recognizable figures in contemporary perfumery, a British perfumer, entrepreneur, and founder of her own niche brand, The Perfumer's Story by Azzi. Born in London in 1970, she spent her childhood in India, where she absorbed the richness of exotic scents from an early age, which later shaped her unique perception of fragrances. Her journey into the world of perfumery began in 1991 at CPL Aromas, where she rose from apprentice to commercial director in just two years, demonstrating not only creative talent but also outstanding business skills.
The name Azzi Glasser is inextricably linked to the sensational success of the Agent Provocateur brand. Her involvement in the launch of the first perfume line in 1999 marked the beginning of a long and fruitful collaboration. She created the house's iconic perfumes, which became bestsellers: the seductive and mysterious Petale Noir, the refreshing Eau Provocateur, and the elegant L'Agent Eau Provocateur. Her debut solo work for the brand was the sensual Eau Emotionnelle, released in 2006.
The perfumer's portfolio is impressive in its diversity: from the floral tenderness of Emma for Laura Ashley and the rosy freshness of R de Rose for Acorelle to the bold and avant-garde Freak for Illamasqua. She has also created fragrances for brands such as Miss Selfridge, Topman, Reiss, and JLS, demonstrating incredible flexibility and the ability to speak the language of any audience.
In 2001, Azzi founded Family Three, an agency that became legendary behind the scenes in the industry. Specializing in creating perfumes for celebrities, she has worked with icons such as Victoria Beckham, Johnny Depp, and Kylie Minogue. This unique experience allowed her to gain a deeper understanding of how fragrance becomes part of a personal brand. At the same time, she developed interior compositions for hotel chains, including projects for The Hotel Couture.
Her accumulated experience resulted in the creation of her own brainchild, The Perfumer's Story by Azzi, whose debut collection was released in 2015. Here, Glasser revealed herself as an author with absolute creative freedom, offering innovative and conceptual fragrances. Striking examples include the mesmerizing Amber Molecule and the exquisite Kingsman TGC.
Azzi Glasser's signature style is bold, emotionally deep, and impeccably crafted. Her fragrances, whether sensual compositions for Bella Freud such as the delicate Close To My Heart or bold creations for her own line, always tell a story. She masterfully balances mainstream appeal with niche complexity, creating perfumes that are adored and hotly debated by connoisseurs around the world.
Today, Azzi Glasser is not just a "nose," but a true architect of scents, whose influence extends from the mass market to luxury niche collections. Her career is an inspiring example of how passion, entrepreneurial spirit, and boundless talent can create a new chapter in the history of perfumery.
