Immersion in Legend: Alamut by Lorenzo Villoresi

Imagine a medieval fortress nestled amid the blooming gardens of Persia. The fragrance Lorenzo Villoresi Alamut, released in 2006, transports us into this mysterious atmosphere.

This is more than just a perfume—it is an olfactory journey created by the Florentine humanist Lorenzo Villoresi.

The brand’s philosophy is to transform fragrances into intellectual treatises, and Alamut is a striking testament to this.

This eau de toilette belongs to the unisex category, captivating both men and women alike.

The fragrance belongs to the Oriental and Floral families, while its moderate sillage leaves a soft yet memorable trail.

It is perfect for cool autumn and winter days, revealing its full depth both during the day and in the evening.

Although there are no precise application recommendations, we suggest applying 2–3 sprays to pulse points and one to clothing—this will allow the fragrance to unfold harmoniously without overwhelming those around you.

If you enjoy this style, consider similar compositions: By Kilian Good Girl Gone Bad, Agent Provocateur L'Agent, and Giorgio Armani Rouge Malachite—they share Alamut’s sensual and mysterious soul.

Description of the composition

The Alamut fragrance pyramid is a true symphony of contrasts.

The top notes greet us with a sparkling bouquet of exotic flowers, delicate jasmine, honeyed osmanthus, noble rose, and spicy rosewood.

At the heart of the composition bloom amber, resinous labdanum, intoxicating narcissus, sensual orange blossom, creamy tuberose, and spicy ylang-ylang.

The base anchors the fragrance with a warm trail of amber, woody amyris, sweet benzoin, a piquant leather accord, earthy patchouli, delicate powdery notes, velvety sandalwood, and clean musk.

Each note dances in perfect harmony, creating a multifaceted and unforgettable scent.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Villoresi's fragrance truly stands out with its extravagance. It combines a dusty Renaissance rose, woody notes, and light spicy accents. This scent evokes the spirit of Florentine palazzos from the Medici era - at times dark and frightening, and at other times solemn and bright, filled with southern sun. It's like the East, but with a European touch - there are no prohibitions on red wine and provocative art here. In older versions, one could detect oakmoss extract, which is now out of favor due to strict IFRA regulations

What a shame that such fragrances are becoming a thing of the past. This scent, it's truly bright and unusual. Its depth is simply astonishing, but not in the usual fruity sense, rather in that it resembles a blooming tropical forest where carnivorous flowers await their prey. For me, it's holistic, although focused on groves, the other notes frame it without overshadowing. This perfume leaves such a lasting impression that after it, you don't want anything else )

This fragrance is simply incredible! To say it's amazing is an understatement. It's bold, bright, and memorable, yet it doesn't overpower, maintaining elegance and harmony. The floral composition is simply gorgeous, and the leather note adds a special touch. Warm sandalwood seems to embrace you, creating a feeling of something expensive and refined. It's like enjoying an exquisite drink that reveals new facets with every sip. There's something spicy and smoky in it, although at first glance it might not be so obvious 😍 The sillage is a whole other story - it's long-lasting and alluring, feminine and mysterious. Such a scent is perfect for autumn and early winter, especially for evening outings

A rich, deep, and powerful fragrance. It's a true floral symphony, as if you're holding an entire garden in your hands. In the background, smoldering amber and sandalwood are felt. The sillage is simply incredible, ridiculously long-lasting. Suitable for both rain and frost, and it smells wonderful on both men and women
