Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Odin 07 Tanoke begins with a vibrant start: bitter orange (bigarade) offers citrus freshness, complemented by the spicy chords of black pepper and ginger, creating an energetic introduction.

In the heart of the composition, deep and warm notes unfold: frankincense adds a smoky mystery, guaiac wood brings a woody sweetness, and nutmeg enriches it with a spicy charm.

The base of the fragrance is built on solid foundations: mahogany (red wood) and patchouli create an earthy, woody depth, which is completed by the sensual black musk, leaving a long, captivating trail.

This multi-layered composition smoothly transitions from initial liveliness to a warm, cozy base, making the fragrance dynamic and memorable.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth

Odin is the name of the supreme god in Germanic-Norse mythology, known as the Lord of Wisdom and Victory. He travels the world in search of knowledge, and his faithful companions are the ravens Huginn and Muninn, who help him explore the most remote corners of the earth.

As for frankincense perfumes, this is my favorite accord, and it's hard for me to criticize them. Frankincense always smells different, and its perception can be tricky, especially for Russian speakers, as it's often associated with religious rituals. But despite that, I like it. Frankincense can create different moods and visualizations depending on the situation. Every perfumer who uses this component strives to show their unique perspective on it.

Recently, I got acquainted with the fragrance 07 Tanoke from a small New York company, dedicated to the Californian redwood. It conveys the atmosphere of wild nature and the magic of the West Coast. The composition begins with warm citrus notes, complemented by ginger and nutmeg. Then frankincense ignites against a background of dark musk and woody notes, creating a sensation of heat.

Interestingly, in 07 Tanoke, frankincense behaves differently: in warmth, it becomes more acidic, and in the cold, it unfolds as if the wind is fanning embers. The longevity of the fragrance is impressive - it projects loudly and has a strong sillage, then becomes closer to the skin, remaining noticeable throughout the day.

As for gender, at the beginning, the fragrance can be classified as unisex, but closer to the base, it becomes more masculine. I would call it a masculine unisex. Previously, I hadn't paid attention to this brand, but now it's worth taking a closer look. And, by the way, the bottle design is simply impeccable

The first thing that comes to mind is simply a stunning, amazing scent of a spruce sawmill! Honestly, no oranges are felt at the beginning. Ginger and pepper? Perhaps, but they only appear when you start thinking about them. Otherwise, it's exactly a spruce sawmill! I hear the machines working, the planes flying back and forth. I see resinous shavings falling to the floor, and workers cheerfully chatting. The scent of freshly cut wood, soaked in drops of resin, when you bury your nose in that cut. It's incredibly dry, with a bitter resinous hue - simply magical!

A little nutmeg is felt. Peppery nutmeg on a resinous cut. And then, finally, the orange appears. A broken segment, slowly wilting in the sun, lying on a coniferous cut. The needles here are not green, but dry and resinous, not cloying at all. The scent gradually changes, turning from golden-yellow to red. The workday is over, the cheerful workers have left the sawmill, having finished their work. Now, among the scraps and silent machines, stands a solitary, massive mahogany table, on which a slightly dried, bitter orange, ginger, and nutmeg are vaguely visible through the smoke of smoldering incense on a saucer nearby. It's simply magical!

This fragrance is excellent for relaxation, especially if you have a sample. You can use it instead of an aroma lamp, and it truly creates an atmosphere of calm. The scent of wood with notes of resin, spruce, or fir trees feels very natural, as if autumn itself has come into your home. Nutmeg adds an interesting nuance, reminiscent of dried fruits, which gives the fragrance a light oriental sweetness. It's rich and multifaceted, not limited to a single note, but rather envelops you like a soft mist. For me, it's truly unusual!!!

The fragrance is truly impressive, but I've noticed it only fully develops in hot weather. The frankincense here is simply magnificent, with a light smoky church-like nuance, and the woody notes add depth. Towards the end, a warmth of spices emerges, which is very pleasant. I read Anatoly's review, and of course, I can't express my thoughts as beautifully, but my emotions for Tanoke are the same. I'm absolutely thrilled with it! )))
