Who is Alexandra Monet?

Alexandra Monnet is one of the most sought-after and versatile perfumers of our time, whose talent has graced the portfolios of both niche and mainstream brands. Today, she creates her airy and sensual compositions within the walls of the legendary Firmenich perfume laboratory, continuing to win the hearts of connoisseurs around the world.

The path to fragrances: education and career

Alexandra began her journey into the world of scents with a brilliant education at the prestigious ISIPCA school. Her professional career began in 2002 at Drom, where she started as an assistant. This experience was an invaluable learning experience, allowing her to hone her skills in creating compositions for cosmetics and perfumes. Working in international offices in Munich, Paris, and New York gave her a unique understanding of global fragrance trends and preferences.

Signature style and perfumer's style

Alexandra Monnet's style can be described as light, elegant, and incredibly vivid. She masterfully plays with contrasts, combining transparent aquatic accords with warm woody notes or juicy fruit impressions with spicy spices. Her fragrances often tell stories — about travels, blooming gardens, moments of happiness — which makes them not just perfumes, but real emotional experiences.

Brands and iconic collaborations

Over the years, Alexandra Monnet has collaborated with a whole host of famous houses, demonstrating remarkable flexibility. Her portfolio includes rebellious Kenzo, exquisite Lalique, playful Lacoste, as well as niche gems such as The Different Company, FM by Federico Mahora, and The Merchant of Venice. She has also created fragrances for Berdoues and Parfums Grès Paris and revamped the classic Maurer & Wirtz line.

The best and most popular fragrances

The master has dozens of successful works that are adored by fans. Her sensual and mysterious compositions for The Different Company have become cult classics: the smoky Santo Incienso, Sillage Sacré, and the hypnotic Adjatay, Cuir Narcotique. Connoisseurs of freshness note the sunny Soleil for Lalique and the playful 4711 Acqua Colonia Bamboo & Watermelon. Her floral masterpieces for Lulu Castagnette, such as Le Jardin Aux 1000 Fleurs, have also gained incredible popularity.

A new stage at Firmenich and recent works

A milestone in the perfumer's career was her move to Firmenich in 2018 after 16 years of fruitful work with Drom. This step opened up new horizons for creativity. Her recent projects include the refreshing L'Eau Kenzo Hyper Wave Pour Homme and the dreamy Valparaiso for Le Couvent, which only confirm her status as a master whose inspiration knows no bounds.
