Pheromone perfume: can fragrances increase attractiveness?

Paolo Terenzi is a legendary perfumer and co-founder of the iconic Italian house Tiziana Terenzi. His journey into the world of aromas began not in a laboratory, but in the family candle-making workshop Cereria Terenzi, founded by his father Evelino. Studying law and passionate about music, Paolo joined the family business in 1995, where he learned the intricacies of working with wax and essential oils for giants such as Gucci and Acqua di Parma. This unique experience became the foundation for his future perfumery style, where luxury and craftsmanship are inseparable.
Together with his sister Tiziana, who serves as creative director, Paolo made a breakthrough in 2012 by founding his own perfume house, Tiziana Terenzi. The first fragrances, such as Ecstasy and XIX March, were dedicated to his father and inspired by the heritage of the Italian Renaissance. Later, the duo created other niche projects, including V Canto and Giardino Benessere. Paolo's expertise is also in demand outside the family business: he has created fragrances for Divina Terra, Maori Collection, Simimi, and even Milanese couturier Antonio Croce.
Paolo's talent as a perfumer has given the world dozens of iconic compositions, many of which have become bestsellers and favorites of the community. Among the master's cult creations that are definitely worth trying are the sensual and vibrant Kirke, the mysterious and woody-fruity Draco, and the delicate and floral Andromeda. Equally popular among connoisseurs are the juicy Cassiopea, the invigorating White Fire, and the deep, meditative Chimaera. Each of these perfumes is a story told through scent.
Paolo Terrenzi's signature style is large-scale, almost cinematic aromatic canvases. He masterfully works with contrasts, combining the sweetness of ripe fruit with the smokiness of incense, as in Kaff, or the delicacy of flowers with spicy intensity, as in Casanova. His inspiration comes from astronomy, art, history, and Italian nature, making each composition not just a perfume, but a true work of art with character and soul.
Paolo Terrenzi is rightly considered one of the key figures in contemporary niche perfumery. His influence lies in his ability to combine traditional Italian craftsmanship with bold, innovative accords. Working with his sister, he has created not just a brand, but an entire aromatic universe, where every detail—from the bottle to the most complex note—is thought out down to the smallest detail. His creations continue to win the hearts of new fans around the world, confirming his status as a master who knows how to turn scents into emotions.
