Patchouli Oud Affinessence arrived in 2015 — and it was immediately clear this one was here to stay. A unisex fragrance from the east and wood families. Conceived and brought to life by perfumer Nicolas Bonneville. Patchouli Oud — proudly part of the Collection Notes de Fond collection. The fragrance concentration is eau de parfum.

It carries a noticeable sillage, leaving a trail that lingers pleasantly in the air. Country of origin — France, and that already says something about the quality. Patchouli Oud Affinessence — the choice of those who appreciate depth and character in every detail.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Patchouli Oud evolves as a cohesive olfactory arc, where notes flow with precision and warmth. The creative approach of Affinessence comes through in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Every decision feels deliberate, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de parfum emphasizes a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

At the note-group layer the structure relies on Balsamic, Wood, Earthy / Mossy and Gourmet. From a family perspective the scent maps to East and Wood.

When the pyramid is blended into one block the notes arrive together with a soft-dry woody mood: Elemi, Frankincense, Guaiac wood, Labdanum, Moss, Oud and Patchouli.

The deeper layers are perceived as a smooth transition from opening to trail, which preserves the scent identity through drydown.

The accord profile is shaped by these accords: Balsamic, Wood and Spicy with each one in a clear role. The gender direction is unisex, which sharpens how the fragrance is perceived. In trail behavior Noticeable shows the style of diffusion around the wearer.

Taken together Patchouli Oud sounds complete from start to finish — the opening sets direction, the middle layer carries the identity, and the base secures the trail. These are the fragrances best experienced on skin.
