Fragrance information:

Kuroi Annayake arrived in 2014 — and it was immediately clear this one was here to stay. By character, a masculine fragrance drawing from the spicy and fern families. Concentration — eau de toilette: exactly what it needs to be.

The birthplace of this fragrance — Japan, a place with a refined nose. A rich, layered composition that reveals itself differently depending on your mood and the time of day.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Kuroi is shaped as a continuous scent journey, where notes flow with precision and warmth. The creative approach of Annayake comes through from the opening to the final trail. Every decision feels deliberate, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de toilette supports a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

At the opening of the pyramid you detect piquant warm opening notes: Black Pepper and Citrus accord. Exactly these 2 notes set piquant dynamism that anchors the first impression immediately.

When the opening settles you detect Mate and Spices holding a pure leafy direction.

The accord architecture is shaped by these accords: Citrus, Wood, Amber and Spicy without random overlap. The gender direction is masculine, which clarifies the composition character.

At olfactory-group level the profile is anchored in Spicy, Citrus, Green and Ambery. It also reaches into Wood. From a family perspective the composition sits in Fern and Spicy.

Taken together Kuroi reads as a cohesive composition — the start forms character, the middle layer carries the identity, while the drydown anchors the memory. These are the fragrances best judged on skin.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.
Sillage
Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The tea really comes through nicely, but I think there's definitely oolong in it, mixed with spices. The scent is so rich that the freshness quickly fades, giving way to a hot spiciness!!! Its aroma is interesting, almost natural, but many times amplified
