Bellerive Oak & Oud Legend — the character and story of the fragrance

Bellerive Oak & Oud Legend is a unisex perfume released in 2020.

This eau de parfum belongs to the Oak & Oud collection, where fresh citrus nuances meet spices, green facets and a dry woody depth.

The fragrance was created for those who appreciate understated expressiveness and do not want to disappear into an overly loud cloud of perfume.

It has a modern, graphic quality: a sparkling opening, spicy tension as it develops and a calm woody-balsamic base.

At the same time, the name Oak & Oud Legend does not mean that oud is listed as a separate base note. According to the available data, the composition is built around citrus, spicy, green, floral, balsamic and woody accents.

The pyramid and development on the skin

The top, middle and base notes are not listed separately, so it is more accurate to consider the composition as a single olfactory accord.

Bergamot and grapefruit are especially noticeable at the start, adding a light bitterness, freshness and clean citrus energy to the fragrance.

As it develops, black pepper and cardamom join them, creating a dry, elegantly spicy accent.

Davana contributes a green, slightly astringent nuance, while Hedione makes the fragrance airier and adds a soft floral transparency.

In the drydown, cedar, incense and vetiver create a calm woody outline with subtle smoky and earthy undertones.

Wearability and sillage

Bellerive Oak & Oud Legend is positioned as a unisex fragrance, so its character is not tied to a traditionally feminine or masculine perfume palette.

It feels equally natural on those who enjoy citrus-spicy compositions, dry woody accords and an understated yet noticeable sense of individuality.

The fragrance has a soft sillage: it stays close to the skin and reveals itself more to the wearer and those nearby than to the entire surrounding space.

It is a good choice for the office, relaxed daytime meetings, travel and situations where you want to add a composed touch to your look without excessive intensity.

For application to the skin, 4 or more sprays are recommended, especially if you want to experience the development of the citrus, spices and woody notes throughout the day.

You can apply more than 4 sprays to clothing, but it is better to start with a small amount on an inconspicuous area of fabric and take the material into account.

Thanks to its soft sillage, the fragrance does not feel intrusive, while an adequate dosage preserves its expressive character.

Bellerive style and similar fragrances

Oak & Oud Legend shows Bellerive in a composed and versatile light.

Here, the brand’s signature is revealed not through a complex, showy pyramid, but through a balance of freshness, spice and dry wood — a combination that adapts easily to different styles and seasons.

The composition is especially suitable for spring, autumn and cool summer days, when the citrus freshness sounds clean and vetiver, cedar and incense gain beautiful depth.

The fragrance can also be worn in winter with a higher dosage, although its sillage will remain more intimate than dense.

For further exploration of a similar atmosphere, consider Blackbird Zola Jesus Taiga, Christine Lavoisier Parfums Danger Night and Roland V. Conspirator.

These fragrances may appeal to fans of unconventional unisex compositions in which fresh, spicy and woody nuances come together with an individual mood.

The perfumer behind Bellerive Oak & Oud Legend is not specified in the available data, nor are any other concentrations of this release.

Therefore, the main points of reference when choosing it are the stated eau de parfum concentration, its citrus-spicy-woody character, moderate closeness to the skin and the ability to adjust its intensity by varying the number of sprays.

Description of the composition

Notes and composition

Bellerive Oak & Oud Legend is composed of bergamot, black pepper, cardamom, cedar, davana, frankincense, grapefruit, Hedione and vetiver.

The citrus notes of bergamot and grapefruit create a fresh, slightly bitter opening, while black pepper and cardamom add a spicy intensity.

Davana reinforces the green character, while Hedione softens the composition with a sheer floral nuance.

Cedar, frankincense and vetiver provide dry woody depth, a subtle smokiness and an earthy touch.

No distinct top, middle or base notes are specified, so the composition is perceived as a seamless blend of citrus, spicy, green, floral, balsamic and woody accords.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The name is completely off. Basically, it's a Blue Label clone: quiet, even and calm. I like the direction itself, but clones almost always make it smell budget. Here they just tried to sell the cheapest version as if it were expensive

Bad copy for that money. On skin burnt twigs and lavender. In the sillage similar to Blue Label but sounds cheap
