Perfume information

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Mon Otage is built as a living composition, where layers reveal themselves without rush and without gaps. The style of Charrier Parfums is recognizable in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. No excess details, only what works, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de parfum emphasizes a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

From the first breath you meet juicy fruity top notes: Green Apple and Mandarin.

When the opening settles you sense Black currant leaf, Jasmine, Lilac and Rose carrying a harmonious floral direction.

The accord architecture is built around these accords: Citrus, Floral, Fruit and Musc forming a compact and readable structure. Additional accords such as Wood and Amber expand the olfactory volume in the background. The profile is feminine, which clarifies the composition character. In longevity terms Low suggests confident staying power.

At olfactory-group level the profile is anchored in Fruit, Citrus, Green and Whiteflower. It also reaches into Floral, Ambery, Wood and Musk.

Overall Mon Otage reads as a cohesive composition — the first stage creates momentum, the heart develops the core line, and the base secures the trail. These are the fragrances best experienced on skin.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.
Persistence
Low (1 to 2 hours)
2
Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

2
Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

Of all the Charrier fragrances I like, this one is probably the most unsuccessful. Honestly, it's even a bit repulsive after the "amber"! It's surprising that it's positioned as a women's fragrance, because it's 100% masculine. The smell reminds me of a car's leather interior, although it looks expensive. In general, it's definitely not a women's fragrance, but it could be good for men! 😅
