Identity and Release History

In 2017, the world of perfumery was enriched with a new masterpiece from the legendary brand Chopard — the fragrance Vanille de Madagascar.

This unisex perfume, released as part of the Chopard Collection, immediately caught the attention of connoisseurs of luxury and refined scents.

Chopard, a synonym for Swiss jewelry art, demonstrates in this creation how the brilliance of precious gems can be translated into the language of fragrances, creating a unique aura of elegance.

The release of Vanille de Madagascar marks a continuation of the brand's traditions in perfumery, where every detail is meticulously considered, reflecting a pursuit of perfection.

The fragrance quickly gained popularity among those seeking something more than just a perfume — it became a symbol of refined taste and a love for natural riches, inspired by vanilla from distant Madagascar.

Positioning and Character

Vanille de Madagascar is classified as a unisex fragrance, making it an ideal choice for modern men and women who value flexibility and individuality.

In the form of perfume water, it offers a balanced intensity suitable for daily wear and special occasions.

Belonging to the Oriental family endows it with warm, spicy, and sweet accents, creating a sense of comfort and mystery.

The fragrance unfolds smoothly, starting with refreshing top notes and transitioning into a sweet heart, ultimately settling into a woody base.

Its character is a harmony between gentleness and strength, perfectly suited for cool evenings or romantic encounters when you want to add a touch of luxury to the everyday.

Authorial Intent and Influence

The creation of such a multifaceted fragrance is the result of collaborative work by outstanding perfumers: Alberto Morillas, Nathalie Lorson, Fabrice Legros, and Caroline Scheufele.

Their expertise allowed them to combine in one composition the lightness of citrus, the sweetness of vanilla, and the depth of woody notes, reflecting the DNA of the Chopard brand, where every detail is a work of art.

This release strengthened Chopard's position in the perfume industry, showing that the brand is capable of creating not only jewelry but also fragrances that become timeless classics.

Vanille de Madagascar is inspired by the natural vanilla of Madagascar, known for its high quality, which adds authenticity and value in the eyes of connoisseurs.

Description of the composition

Composition Structure

The scent pyramid of Vanille de Madagascar begins with a refreshing chord of top notes: bergamot adds a citrus freshness, orange blossom brings a delicate floral aroma, and tea offers a slight astringency, creating an intriguing introduction.

At the heart of the composition, sweet notes of caramel and vanilla unfold, providing warmth and comfort, reminiscent of dessert pleasures.

The base of the fragrance is built on strong woody accents: cedar ensures stability and resinous tones, while vetiver adds an earthy depth, anchoring the composition for a long time.

This combination creates a multifaceted bouquet that evolves on the skin, from a bright start to a sweet heart and a stable base.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

In this fragrance, I discovered an amazing combination of vanilla and bergamot. It's truly something unusual and captivating. My little bottle is almost empty, and I'm already thinking about repurchasing, as this scent brings such tranquility

I bought it at Zolotoe Yabloko with a discount, and you know, the bottle is simply gorgeous! The design and manufacturer are delightful. The fragrance, created by Nathalie Lorson, feels like it's made for me. Summer is my passion, and all the emotions associated with it are simply captivating. This scent evokes memories of warm sun, freckles, and flowers. I miss these feelings so much in winter. It also reminds me of home comfort, like the smell of vanilla from grandma's cookies. With it, I feel calm and harmonious. The composition is simply "delicious": citrus, bergamot, orange, and floral tea in the top notes. In the heart - caramel with Bourbon vanilla, and the base - white cedar and vetiver. Long-lasting, with great sillage, it gets noticed and admired. I recommend trying it! 🌸

The scent isn't bad, of course, but where are all these notes everyone talks about? I don't smell anything, just some general background. I kinda liked it, but I expected more 🤷‍♀️

a fragrance that should invigorate actually only evokes a slight sadness. the tea here is too tart, and the sweet notes of vanilla and caramel seem out of place. they seem to be trying to hide something, but can't. in the end, only a feeling of emptiness remains

Tea is on the table again - this time with ice and bergamot, served on a cedar tray with ceramic patterns. The opening is cold and not too sweet, then comes caramel mousse with vanilla powder. It would be great to have such a fragrance as a room spray 🌟

This "vanilla perfume" has absolutely nothing to do with vanilla. Summer, sea, sun, wind - yes, all that's there, but where's the vanilla sweetness? The sillage, which is supposed to be intimate, disappears after an hour, and you don't even realize you have anything on. What nonsense, not a fragrance at all 😤

This version of Madagascar vanilla is just strange. It's not heavy, but not light either, like something's off. Tea, yes, but with some caramel notes that are just irritating. Comfort and warmth? I don't know, rather, it's just a deceptive feeling. The fragrance can certainly be noticed, but is it worth spending time on? I'm not sure
