Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Oud et Bois evolves as a continuous scent journey, where accents shift smoothly and sequentially. The creative approach of D'Orsay is recognizable from the opening to the final trail. Nothing here feels random, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Perfume extract sets a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

At the note-group layer the structure relies on Balsamic, Wood and Gourmet. Within olfactory families the fragrance belongs to East and Wood.

Without strict stage separation the notes arrive together with a resinous voluminous mood: Amber, Elemi, Frankincense, Labdanum, Laos Oud, Nagarmotha and Patchouli.

The deeper layers are felt as a continuous motion from lift to depth, which keeps the fragrance coherent.

The internal accord map is driven by these accords: Balsamic, Wood, Spicy and Mineral without random overlap. The stylistic positioning is unisex, which makes the scent profile easier to read. For persistence Middle points to a sustained drydown presence.

Taken together Oud et Bois sounds complete from start to finish — the opening sets direction, the heart develops the core line, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. These are the scent structures best understood on skin.

The scent is damn dry. It's hardly worth anything on its own. Maybe it could be used as a base for something more interesting, but overall - a complete disappointment
