Evody Parfums Ambre Intense: a warm oriental classic

Ambre Intense by Evody Parfums is an olfactory journey into the very heart of oriental luxury.

Launched in 2008, it immediately became an iconic release in the Collection Première.

The Paris-born brand, created from the love shared by mother and daughter Régine Drouin and Cérine Vasseur, has captured the warmth of family values and the refinement of French perfumery heritage in this fragrance.

Ambre Intense is positioned as a unisex composition that unfolds beautifully in cooler weather, during autumn and winter.

With its moderate sillage, the fragrance makes a confident yet unobtrusive impression, leaving behind a soft, enveloping trail.

It is an ideal choice for evening occasions, romantic dates, or cozy corporate gatherings, offering a sense of warmth, comfort, and inner harmony.

How Ambre Intense unfolds

The fragrance opens with a fresh, spicy accord of bay leaf, setting the tone for the entire composition.

Then the heart comes into play, where resinous incense intertwines with the noble woodiness of sandalwood and earthy patchouli.

The base is a true symphony of warmth: sensual amber and sweetish opoponax create a long-lasting, enveloping finish.

What to compare it with and how to expand your collection

Fans of rich oriental fragrances will surely enjoy the related perfume Evody Parfums Noir D'Orient, which is even more mysterious and spicy.

If you would like to explore other brands, consider Amouage Interlude Man with its smoky-herbal character, or Amouage Opus VI, a complex incense masterpiece.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

From the first whiff, I just clung to this scent. The amber is sweetish, but not joyfully so, rather melancholic. Its longevity, of course, is impressive, leaving a trail like a shadow. Compliments pour in, but inside it feels somewhat empty. There's coziness in it, but it mostly reminds me of what's lost

The fragrance is simply amazing. I've been looking for amber for a long time and tested about five different options. Acqua di Parma, Alexandre J, and Montale, unfortunately, didn't impress me. Only Tom Ford can compete, but they are in completely different price categories. As for longevity, I applied a light spray to my hand at 10 AM and walked around outside. I came home, showered in the evening, and the scent was still noticeable on my skin. Of course, it became closer to the skin and a bit bland, but the longevity is still decent. The combination of amber and frankincense is magnificent. Now I'm interested in trying the entire Evody line. Perhaps all their fragrances are just as expressive )
