Hugo Boss launched Dark Blue in 1999 — and it was a brilliant move. By character, a masculine fragrance drawing from the spicy and east families. This scent was born from the partnership of Alain Astori, Lutz Herrmann, and Beatrice Piquet. In eau de toilette — and that's all it takes to fall in love.

The olfactory structure of Dark Blue evolves as a living composition, where layers reveal themselves with precision and warmth. The signature of Hugo Boss is recognizable from the opening to the final trail. No excess details, only what works, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de toilette keeps a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

The internal accord map rests on these accords: Aromatic, Citrus, Gourmet and Floral forming a compact and readable structure. Background accords such as Wood and Spicy add depth to the backdrop. The gender direction is masculine, which sharpens how the fragrance is perceived. For persistence Middle points to a sustained drydown presence.

About 15 years ago, my dad gave this fragrance to his brother. About 10 years passed, and I got a boyfriend. When we went to my godfather's place, we saw this bottle, which, by the way, was full. My boyfriend was very young back then, didn't know much about perfumes, and happily took it for himself. Just a month ago, it was used to the last drop, and now I really want to buy it again. How much I liked it! Sweetish, deep, with a sharp nuance. You can feel ginger, lime, benzoin, and vanilla in it. The fragrance is very masculine and sensual. By the way, it was created 20 years ago, but it smells so modern
