Description of the composition

The scent of Marlowe evolves as a living composition, where layers reveal themselves smoothly and sequentially. The style of Jardins d’Écrivains comes through in the way notes appear and fade. No excess details, only what works, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de parfum keeps a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

At the note-group layer the composition is built around Balsamic, Whiteflower, Floral and Leather. The framework further includes Earthy / Mossy, Musk, Aromatic and Gourmet. At family level the scent maps to Aromatic, East and Leather.

In the first seconds you catch resinous-spicy first notes: Elemi and Tuberose.

In the central layer you sense Myrrh and Osmanthus holding a resinous meditative direction.

The olfactory framework is driven by these accords: Balsamic, Floral, Musc and Wood without random overlap. Additional accords such as Leather and Spicy add depth to the backdrop. The profile is masculine, which clarifies the composition character.

This fragrance is a true theatrical masterpiece with floral and aldehydic notes, clearly paying homage to Mitsouko. Although it doesn't resemble the famous Guerlain perfume, the inspiration is clearly traceable here. Instead of the usual dried peach, we get an apricot-leathery osmanthus, which is surprising. Moderately sweet tuberose, a bit of myrrh, and oakmoss create an interesting ensemble, and a musky accord adds softness. Marlowe might seem a bit outdated, but I still keep it in my collection. I have nothing quite like it, and sometimes such fragrances are simply necessary. And, by the way, the character Marlowe is truly unusual and fascinating. I also recommend watching the series!
