Description of the composition

The scent of Milano Collection 2012 is built as a continuous scent journey, where notes flow smoothly and sequentially. The creative approach of Kanebo is evident in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Every decision feels deliberate, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail.

At olfactory-group level the structure relies on Ambery, Fruit, Floral and Whiteflower. It also reaches into Musk.

When the pyramid is blended into one block the opening appears as one connected movement with a multi-layered petal mood: Ambergris, Apple, Freesia, Green pepper, Heliotrope, Jasmine and Lily of the Valley.

The inner phases are read as a continuous motion from lift to depth, which preserves the scent identity through drydown.

The olfactory framework rests on these accords: Floral, Fruit, Musc and Amber with each one in a clear role. Secondary accord layers such as Spicy expand the olfactory volume in the background. The stylistic positioning is feminine, which clarifies the composition character. For persistence Low indicates a stable lasting impression.

Taken together Milano Collection 2012 reads as a cohesive composition — the opening sets direction, the central phase adds depth, while the drydown anchors the memory.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.
Persistence
Low (1 to 2 hours)
2
Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Extremely inconspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

I got this fragrance much later than it was released, so I can't say for sure what it was like originally. I don't detect any off notes, but there's a certain tartness present. Overall, it's a floral scent where you can pick up rose, lily of the valley, and jasmine, and golden amber adds a sweet heaviness. There's also an interesting green pepper note, which might surprise you. All in all, it's not a simple fragrance. I liked the bottle, and the little angel on the cap looks cute!
