Shalimar: the history of the first amber fragrance
There are fragrances that smell like perfume. And then there are those that smell like a legend. Sha...
In 2022, Kenkô introduced Lilja — a fragrance that's hard to forget. By character, a unisex fragrance drawing from the green and floral families. In eau de toilette — and that's all it takes to fall in love.
Made in the Netherlands. Lilja Kenkô unfolds gradually, effortlessly, and with great refinement — a perfect choice for day or evening.
The fragrance is very long-lasting, staying on the skin for 12 hours or more, gradually revealing its notes
The scent will linger in the air even after its wearer has left.
The perfume has a fresh scent that is not too intense, so it does not overwhelm those around you with strong essences
A light and elegant fragrance with harmonious richness—the perfect balance between the depth of eau de parfum and the freshness of cologne
Fragrances for spring and summer unfold with light citrus notes, floral and fruity accords, filling the composition with freshness, airiness, and a feeling of carefree lightness on warm days
The composition of Lilja evolves as a layered story, where layers reveal themselves smoothly and sequentially. The signature of Kenkô is recognizable from the opening to the final trail. Nothing here feels random, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de toilette emphasizes the right density and pace of development.
The internal accord map is shaped by these accords: Citrus, Floral and Spicy forming a compact and readable structure. The stylistic positioning is unisex, which sharpens how the fragrance is perceived.
Without strict stage separation the notes arrive together with a energetic fresh mood: Bergamot, Lily of the Valley, Magnolia leaf, Narcissus, Petitgrain, Raspberry leaf and Vanilla.
The deeper layers are felt as a gradual shift without abrupt breaks, which keeps the fragrance coherent.
At the note-group layer the structure relies on Citrus, Whiteflower, Green and Gourmet. The framework further includes Floral and Earthy / Mossy. Within olfactory families the fragrance belongs to Floral and Green.
Taken together Lilja reads as a cohesive composition — the opening sets direction, the central phase adds depth, and the base secures the trail. This is the type of composition best judged in wear.
