Fragrance information:

The world first encountered Amour Make Me Fly by Kenzo in 2016. A feminine fragrance rooted in the fruit and floral families. Inspiration and execution — all of it is Daphne Bugey. By character, it falls into the wood, musk, and fruit groups. The palette of this fragrance is exceptionally rich: traces of floral, citrus, and whiteflower can also be found — a rare combination that makes this perfume truly one of a kind. An eau de toilette — light-footed, but utterly unforgettable.

It has a delicate sillage, staying close and personal. Every application feels like a little ritual — longevity is low. Country of origin — France, and that already says something about the quality. A rich, layered composition that reveals itself differently depending on your mood and the time of day.

Description of the composition

The composition of Amour Make Me Fly is shaped as a living composition, where layers reveal themselves with precision and warmth. The signature of Kenzo comes through from the opening to the final trail. Nothing here feels random, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de toilette emphasizes a balanced rhythm of unfolding.

As soon as the fragrance opens you detect radiant lemon-bergamot first notes: Citrus accord, Mandarin and Mirabelle Plum.

In the middle phase you notice Cherry Blossom, Jasmine and Magnolia carrying a harmonious floral direction.

The internal accord map is driven by these accords: Citrus, Floral, Fruit and Musc with each one in a clear role. Additional accords such as Wood enrich the profile without taking over. The gender direction is feminine, which clarifies the composition character. In wear duration Low indicates a stable lasting impression.

At olfactory-group level the profile is anchored in Citrus, Floral, Fruit and Musk. The palette also extends to Whiteflower and Wood.

Taken together Amour Make Me Fly sounds complete from start to finish — the opening sets direction, the heart develops the core line, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. This is the type of composition best understood on skin.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

2
Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. The perfume line just didn't quite hit the mark for me. The initial notes, yes, aren't bad, but closer to the base, it feels like something is off. I tried everything I could get my hands on. There are a lot of flowers in the scent, and there are fruity notes, but I definitely don't detect plum. As it turns out, I don't love magnolia in every fragrance. I also can't distinguish the musky base and cedar 😕

elongated bottles never really caught my attention, and I only knew a couple or three fragrances. but then I got the chance to evaluate them all in one place and, of course, to smell them. honestly, not all of them were to my taste, and this one included. it's sweet-floral, not too heavy, but it has a somewhat dusty note that brings out fruit tree blossoms on my skin. besides this dustiness, I detect magnolia and green leaves, as well as a light musk that isn't overwhelming
