Fragrance information:

The year 2012 gave us Fig Leaf & Sage Kiehl's. A unisex fragrance from the green and fern families. Part of the Aromatic Blends collection, available as eau de toilette.

The sillage is moderate — present, but never overpowering. It settles in and stays — the longevity is genuinely high. Country of origin — the United States, and that already says something about the quality. Fig Leaf & Sage Kiehl's unfolds gradually, effortlessly, and with great refinement — a perfect choice for day or evening.

Description of the composition

The scent of Fig Leaf & Sage evolves as an expressive line of development, where accents shift smoothly and sequentially. The signature of Kiehl's is clear in the way notes appear and fade. Nothing here feels random, and the structure feels complete all the way through. Eau de toilette sets the right density and pace of development.

The gender direction is unisex, which makes the scent profile easier to read. In longevity terms High points to a sustained drydown presence. In projection Middle describes the way the scent radiates.

When the structure is mixed the notes arrive together with a airy lemon mood: Bergamot, Cedrat, Fig Leaf, Sage and Thyme. Here 5 notes work as one integrated frame, creating sunny vitality that feels seamless.

The inner phases are read as a continuous motion from lift to depth, which preserves the scent identity through drydown.

From the group perspective the composition is built around Citrus, Green, Aromatic and Wood. The palette also extends to Earthy / Mossy. Within olfactory families the composition sits in Fern and Green.

In summary Fig Leaf & Sage reads as a cohesive composition — the first stage creates momentum, the heart develops the core line, while the drydown anchors the memory. These are the fragrances best experienced in wear.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

I ordered it blindly, and honestly, I didn't expect fig leaf to be there. It was a real surprise for me. I couldn't get along with it. It gives off a dusty, tart, and green scent, although the greenness itself is quite pleasant, reminiscent of a lemon drop with a slight minty accent. I generally like this scent profile, but this green dust makes me uncomfortable
