Thrilling Symphony of the Tropics

Imagine a sunny Brazilian beach where the rhythms of batucada blend with the whisper of the ocean — this is the scene painted by the perfume L'Artisan Parfumeur Batucada, released in 2011.

This unisex fragrance from the legendary Parisian house L'Artisan Parfumeur, founded by visionary Jean-François Laporte in 1978, embodies the spirit of freedom and creativity with which the brand challenged conventional perfumery, ushering in the era of niche perfumery.

As an eau de toilette, Batucada offers a refreshing and light formula, perfectly suited for daily wear.

Its unisex character makes it accessible to all who appreciate freshness and natural elegance, while its subtle trail adds intimacy without overwhelming those around, making it an excellent choice for warm seasons and casual gatherings.

The fragrance belongs to the Floral and Fruity families, reflecting its playful and joyful character.

It is ideal for summer days, beach parties, or any moment when you want to feel the breath of the tropics, remaining complimentary and recognizable in its freshness.

The creative genius of perfumer Karine Vinchon-Spehner gave Batucada its unique depth.

Her ability to combine unexpected notes allowed the creation of a fragrance that not only entertains the sense of smell but also tells a story — a story of Brazilian carnivals and azure shores, reinforcing the brand's reputation as an innovator in the world of perfumery.

If Batucada has captured your heart, you might also enjoy similar fragrances such as Avon Defender - Island Lime, The Dua Brand Peach Mojito, or Comporta Perfumes A Olhar Trancoso.

Each offers its own take on tropical freshness, helping to explore new olfactory horizons.

Batucada is not just a perfume, but a true journey for the senses.

It reminds us that perfumery can be an art capable of transporting us to distant lands, making each day a bit brighter and more inspiring for true fragrance enthusiasts.

Description of the composition

Play of Notes: From Citrus Burst to Sea Bliss

The fragrance pyramid of Batucada begins with a refreshing chord of lime, mint, and sugar, creating an instant sensation of coolness and sweetness, like the first sip of a mojito on a hot beach.

At the heart of the composition, exotic flowers of tiare and ylang-ylang unfold, adding a creamy and sensual depth that softens the initial freshness and imparts a floral tenderness to the fragrance.

Base notes of coconut, marine accord, and salt complete the symphony, leaving on the skin a warm, salty, and slightly milky trail, reminiscent of a sea breeze after sunset.

This dynamic play from a bright start to a soothing base makes Batucada a multi-layered and intriguing fragrance that constantly evolves on the skin, revealing new facets with each hour of wear.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

This perfume is strange, but there's a beauty in its strangeness. No tropics or energetic dancing till you drop. Everything feels balanced somehow, you could even say it's like it was painted with watercolors. Although, in principle, for this brand, that's quite expected. The scent is fresh, with marine notes. But not all that cold

This fragrance really surprises with salty watermelon at first. Even though I've never actually worn it, this scent always gave me pleasant vibes. I guess it's time to finally get it. But when applied to skin, it changes beyond recognition, and the salty notes disappear… kinda sad( Still, its uniqueness and delicate beauty really draw me in 🌊

Mint fragrances always make me a bit hesitant. I often worry I'll smell like toothpaste. But with this perfume, it's totally different! At first, it reminds me of a refreshing Mojito cocktail - citrusy, minty, just super! It's like bubbles are playing on my skin. Exotic flowers and sweetness only appear closer to the end, but it's so delicate and lovely! 🌟

This fragrance is pure torture. At first, there's a sharp lime that tries to be sweet, but actually turns into some nasty candy. And then this salty note, reminiscent of some cheap cocktail, just kills it. The mint here isn't great either, it's kinda weird, though a green tint is still noticeable. There are flowers and fruits around, but they don't bring joy, rather they're oppressive. This creamy aftertaste only adds to the heaviness, and the aquatic notes remind me of something unbearable, like cucumber with melon. Original? Maybe, but wearing this is just unbearable. It seems like this isn't a scent you'd want to use anytime

The fragrance is simply amazing! It gives an incredible feeling of joy and freshness. Imagine this: you're on a tropical island, where a lime and mint mojito refreshes you on a hot day. Tiare flowers bloom all around, and a warm salty breeze gently touches your skin. This is exactly what you need to lift your spirits! ))

The opening of the fragrance seems fresh, but this freshness quickly loses its appeal. The greenish-fresh pineapple, which should have added brightness, turns out to be too flat against the tropical flowers. The sillage is practically non-existent, and the scent quickly disappears from the skin, leaving only an unexpressive aquatic aftertaste. Lime, sugar, and mint - that's all that remains, but even they don't save the situation. I didn't catch any coconut or salt at all. In the end, the perfume seems too correct and boring, completely unmemorable. It might only suit young people, but even then, it's unlikely anyone will be thrilled with it 😒

The fragrance gives me mixed feelings. On one hand, it's appealing, but at the same time, there's something a bit annoying about it. The combination of sweetness and salty notes is really interesting, and the greenish freshness adds a special charm. However, despite all that, the salty accent starts to get tiring, and that slight pickle-like feeling becomes too intrusive. Overall, I can't say it's a perfect choice!!!

This perfume gives me strange feelings. On one hand, it really reminds me of a vacation, but on the other - there's something elusive about it. The scent of sea and freshness, like you're on the beach, but there's also a light hint of Mojito that doesn't overwhelm, but rather embraces you. There are flowers too, but they're not too intrusive, which is nice. Coconut, unfortunately, isn't noticeable, maybe there's too little of it. Overall, the scent is fresh and pleasant, it could be a great companion for a summer evening, even if you're not in Hawaii. But something about it makes me wonder if I actually like it

Batucada is just a terrible scent for summer. No vibe at all, just an intrusive smell that won't leave. Sea, sun, and salt? Nah, that's all nonsense. Flowers in your hair? Funny, more like they stink. Hawaiian music in the background? Don't make me laugh, it just adds to the annoyance. The scent develops differently? Yeah, but on any skin, it'll just be nasty. On hot skin - tiare sweetness, and on cold - citrus and sea salt. Overall, I don't recommend it, better pick something else ))

I don't know how it happened, but this fragrance surprised me, even though I'm not a fan of aquatic notes. It's simultaneously sweet and salty, with an interesting lime zest spice. Tiare is clearly in the foreground here. It seems like some kind of "vacation scent," where floral notes and the smell of warmed skin mix with a sea breeze and salty splashes. I can't figure out if I like it or not 🤔

Just super! Such a fresh and intense fragrance! Everything is perfectly balanced, on me it wears as a cohesive whole, I don't pick out individual notes, I'm just over the moon. Exotic and incredibly delightful
