Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Malmaison is built as a layered story, where notes flow smoothly and sequentially. The creative approach of Les 12 Parfumeurs comes through in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. No excess details, only what works, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de parfum supports the right density and pace of development.

In the first seconds you catch fresh floral top note: Rose. Exactly this 1 note shapes an elegant floral wave that anchors the first impression immediately.

In the middle phase you detect Blackcurrant carrying a tempting fruity direction. In the base the line is anchored through Vetiver and musk, shaping a warm vetiver trail.

The accord profile is driven by these accords: Floral, Fruit, Musc and Wood with each one in a clear role. The gender direction is unisex, which makes the scent profile easier to read.

From the group perspective the profile is anchored in Floral, Wood, Fruit and Musk. The framework further includes Whiteflower. At family level the scent maps to Floral.

In summary Malmaison sounds complete from start to finish — the first stage creates momentum, the central phase adds depth, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. These are the scent structures best experienced on skin.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

Oh! This is just incredible, I immersed myself in a world of delights with it. The scent is so harmonious that not a single note falls out of the overall composition. It transports me to a garden where roses bloom, and currant bushes are generously laden with ripe berries. And from somewhere far away, a light breeze carries the scent of freshly cut grass. That's the wonderful picture it paints for me. For lovers of blackcurrant in perfumery, this is a real find. It's clearly at the forefront here, but it smells very soft and fresh

Château de Malmaison is not just the residence of Napoleon and Josephine, but a true gem near Paris! This palace is one of the brightest examples of landscape design in France. Napoleon brought about 250 varieties of roses, which now delight the eye in the garden. But the fragrance, which was supposed to be dedicated to this rose garden, is surprising! For some reason, perfumers decided it would smell of blackcurrant - such a fresh and tart berry, with notes of leaves and even wood thanks to vetiver. Animalic nuances, though hidden, are still present, which gives the fragrance a natural feel. Malmaison is a fresh and not cloyingly sweet scent, with a light powdery-musky accent. It's ideal for everyday wear, with soft transitions and a musky touch-up. There are no simple berries or leaves here - it's a harmony where man and nature create something amazing! ))
