Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Red Side is shaped as a layered story, where layers reveal themselves without rush and without gaps. The creative approach of Louis Varel comes through in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Every decision feels deliberate, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de parfum emphasizes the right density and pace of development.

The gender direction is feminine, which sharpens how the fragrance is perceived.

As soon as the fragrance opens you detect delicate floral opening notes: Cyclamen, Freesia and Lemon.

When the opening settles you sense Apple, Jasmine, Peony and Sugar carrying a tempting fruity direction. In what remains on skin the structure settles through Ambergris, Light woods, Patchouli and musk, shaping a earthy woody-resinous trail.

From the group perspective the structure relies on Floral, Citrus, Fruit and Whiteflower. It also reaches into Sweet, Ambery, Wood and Musk. Within olfactory families the scent maps to Floral and Fruit.

Taken together Red Side holds a coherent structure — the first stage creates momentum, the heart develops the core line, and the base secures the trail. This is the type of composition best experienced on skin.

The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The quality has definitely gotten worse, it feels like a budget option because of the citrus notes. It's sweetish, with candied citrus, a bit of bitterness, but overall it reminds me of soap, and the base just disappears 😒

This perfume smells of dried citrus, and it's really pleasant. The citrus note is clearly noticeable here, but it's not overpowering; rather, it creates a dried fruit sensation with a light floral accent. Suitable for everyday use, a very relaxing scent)))
