History and Identity of Mary Kay Elige

Mary Kay Elige, known in Russia as "Mary Kay Elige", is an Eau de Parfum released in 1998.

This fragrance from Mary Kay embodies the brand spirit, founded on the legend of a woman who changed the game.

The history of Mary Kay is an inspiring saga of female power, entrepreneurship, and belief in a dream, started in 1963 by the tireless Mary Kay Ash, and Elige continues this tradition, offering modern women an elegant and confident accent.

Positioning and Wearability

Elige is a feminine fragrance with a lightly perceptible trail, perfect for daily wear, whether at the office, on a date, or an informal meeting.

As an Eau de Parfum, it requires pointwise application on the skin for soft development and 3 to 4 sprays on clothing for a more lasting effect.

If you are looking for similar fragrances that share floral sensuality, pay attention to Chanel Allure, Benetton United Dreams Dream Big, or Montblanc Presence d'une femme.

Creative Contribution

Behind the creation of this exquisite perfume is the talented perfumer Etienne Bouckaert, who brought his unique style to the composition, harmoniously combining diverse notes.

His work emphasizes Mary Kay's commitment to quality and innovation, making Elige a significant element in the brand's fragrance line.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. What a fragrance this is! A real explosion of emotions! At first it was so light, and then, after it matured, it became simply incredible. The liquid darkened a bit, but that only added depth to it. Now it's so rich and loud that just a couple of drops are enough. The floral notes with sweetness are simply delightful!

This fragrance is just a nightmare! Floral, yes, but so old-fashioned it makes you sick. The lily here just bursts to the forefront, as if it needs nothing else. Longevity? There's almost none! Complete disappointment!!!

A status fragrance that is clearly not for everyone. For a business lady, yes, but it's so feminine, sometimes even too much. This scent is memorable, and you can still feel it years later. It's best suited for special occasions, although sometimes it can be used in everyday life. But not every day, only if the mood allows

The fragrance has been on the market since 1998! It's a true classic of perfumery. It smells a bit retro, as it contains rich patchouli and ylang-ylang. White flowers give it tenderness and femininity. In general, it's a typical women's fragrance - nothing superfluous, nothing to subtract, nothing to add. An excellent choice for a gift. But, perhaps, due to its age and such a "status" packaging, it seems too ladylike!!

In the nineties and two thousands, I often bought it)) I remember how my husband chose it for the first time. He said that this fragrance just breathes femininity))) But the price bothers me - it's the same as before. I wonder, how did they make it cheaper? 🤔

The fragrance, undoubtedly, has its maturity, but there's no lightness in it. It doesn't evoke a feeling of carefree joy. I imagine it on my mother-in-law or my husband's mother, who tries to look fashionable, but it rather causes sadness

I adore this fragrance! It's simply stunning, like something out of a fairy tale, leaving an unforgettable impression. If I had it, I would gladly immerse myself in its world. It's the scent of New Year's Eve, which takes you back to childhood, when something magical hung in the air. At that time, favorite New Year's fairy tales were on TV, and happiness and joy reigned in the house

On my skin, this perfume behaves just awfully. It's like it's screaming: "Look at me!" and doesn't give anyone a chance for attention, not even me. Its sillage is so powerful that it fills everything around, as if it's the main character on stage. If you wear it to the theater, the prima donna will simply disappear against the background of this scent. Honestly, such behavior is annoying

The scent is sweet, floral, with light woody accents. Powdery notes are also present. There's something vintage about it, the lily clearly stands out. Such a perfume is perfect for a confident, mature woman )

A fragrance that takes you back to childhood! I remember how, back in the days when it was hard to find something truly high-quality and French, such perfumes with dark bottles were everywhere. They filled stores and markets. This scent is a bright floral, with rich lily and ylang-ylang. It feels very mature and even a bit heavy. Overall, it's true NOSTALGIA!

I've been buying this perfume for many years for my furs. It certainly pairs well with mink. But in recent years, I've noticed that the manufacturer is cutting corners on quality. The scent has become less long-lasting and intense, which is very disappointing. Overall, it's still a fragrance of luxury, but the feeling it evokes isn't the same anymore

I can't disagree that the price for this fragrance isn't that high, especially when compared to others. Sometimes, with more expensive fragrances, we pay simply for the name, not for the quality. But in this case, despite its cost, the quality and scent profile can truly impress even the most demanding connoisseurs. Perhaps fragrances used to be a little more intense, but even now, this option is quite good. In short, don't underestimate it, it might surprise you!
