Identity and Release History

The fragrance Peche Cardinal by the French niche house MDCI Parfums, released in 2008, is a women's perfume in Eau de Parfum concentration.

The brand, founded by Claude Marchal in 2003, has positioned itself from the start as an art project, where each bottle is a work of art, and the fragrances are deep and complex compositions reflecting exquisite taste.

Peche Cardinal, which translates to "Cardinal Peach," instantly captures attention with its juicy and elegant character, perfectly fitting into the philosophy of MDCI Parfums — to create unique, memorable perfumes for true connoisseurs.

Pyramid and Fragrance Development

This fragrance belongs to the Floral and Fruity families, highlighting its multifaceted nature.

At the beginning, you are greeted with a bright fruity explosion that gradually unfolds into a delicate floral heart, then smoothly transitions to a warm woody-musky base.

Such evolution makes Peche Cardinal dynamic and intriguing, offering a true olfactory journey from the first seconds to the final trails.

Positioning and Wearability

The women's fragrance Peche Cardinal has a barely perceptible trail, making it ideal for daily use in the office, on dates, or in summer days when one desires a light but expressive aura.

It is suitable for warm seasons, especially spring and summer, adding freshness and playfulness to the image without being overly intrusive.

If you liked Peche Cardinal, you might be interested in similar fragrances: Montale Intense Tiare with tropical notes, Tommy Hilfiger Dreaming for a light floral mood, or Demeter Jelly Belly Wild Blackberry Peach Cobbler with a spicier and more dessert-like accent.

These options will help expand your perfume collection in a similar style.

Authors and Influence

The creator of this fragrance is the talented perfumer Amandine Claire-Marie, known for her ability to create complex yet harmonious compositions.

Her work on Peche Cardinal demonstrates mastery in combining fruity and floral notes, bringing an element of lightness and accessibility to niche perfumery without losing depth.

Peche Cardinal has become one of the iconic releases in MDCI Parfums' portfolio, strengthening the brand's reputation as a creator of refined and emotional fragrances.

It continues to attract new fans, remaining relevant years after its release, which speaks to its timeless appeal and quality execution.

Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Peche Cardinal begins with a bright start: black currant, coconut, peach, wormwood (artemisia) and blackberry create a juicy and slightly spicy chord.

In the heart of the composition, delicate lily, plum and tuberose unfold, adding floral elegance and velvetiness.

The base secures the fragrance with warm and stable notes of cedar, sandalwood and musk, ensuring longevity and a cozy finish.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The price for this perfume is clearly inflated. I've looked through so many reviews and comments, and only one person could really describe what I'm feeling. I didn't find any masterpiece in it. On my skin, I only smelled a sweetish fruity yogurt scent. It's nice, but not worth that kind of money

I tried the fragrance in a blind test. It's sweet, with fruity-floral notes, more like syrup than compote, with bright accents of strawberry-grape tuberose. Lily and coconut are also noticeable, and the base is creamy. After studying the pyramid, I tried to find peach, but it reminded me more of apricot or even apricot jam. The longevity is impressive, and the sillage is also noticeable. Although sweet fruity fragrances aren't my taste, this one turned out to be too intrusive and sweet for me. You can only wear it in cool, indoor settings, not outside 😅

These peach and strawberry tuberose soap bubbles are just awful. The green-spicy tone, which then gets covered by some waxy coconut film, just causes bewilderment. Usually, I like fruity tuberose, but here it's with milky coconut, and it's simply unbearable. Even in a soft setting, this tuberose is so scratchy that wearing it is impossible 😤

What an amazing scent! Delicate peach in sweet cream, and greenery adds an interesting accent. It's simply impossible not to inhale it again and again, it's so soft and pleasant. The bottle is a separate joy, a real find for perfume lovers. The price, of course, is high, but it's completely justified. A truly royal fragrance! 😍

We bought a 10 ml decant based on reviews. The first impressions weren't very pleasant - the scent seemed too sweet and delicate, with a clear sandalwood note. But after ten minutes, it opened up completely differently! Notes of peach in cream appeared, and the smell became simply magical! Delicate and fragrant, it's delightful! Longevity is excellent, and the sillage is quite moderate

This is simply the perfect chypre, to be honest. Not some brash one, but precisely feminine, yet with character. Berries with peaches, and the flowers are so delicate, creamy. And yes, the chypre is clearly felt here. That's how I envision Maya Plisetskaya's perfume. The prices, of course, are exorbitant, but if you get a tester, you can save money. They don't have the figurine cap, and the price is much lower
