Description of the composition

The scent of Al Hajes evolves as an expressive line of development, where layers reveal themselves without rush and without gaps. The creative approach of Nabeel comes through from the opening to the final trail. Every decision feels deliberate, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail.

In the first seconds you catch invigorating sunny opening notes: Bergamot, Cedar Needles and Hot pepper. Exactly these 3 notes build sunny vitality that anchors the first impression immediately.

In the central layer you meet Ambergris, Frankincense, Heliotrope and Labdanum holding a resinous meditative direction.

The accord architecture is driven by these accords: Balsamic, Citrus, Floral and Wood forming a compact and readable structure. Additional accords such as Amber, Leather and Spicy expand the olfactory volume in the background.

From the group perspective the composition is built around Citrus, Wood, Spicy and Ambery. The palette also extends to Balsamic, Floral and Leather. Within olfactory families the fragrance belongs to Spicy and Wood.

Taken together Al Hajes reads as a cohesive composition — the start forms character, the middle layer carries the identity, and the base secures the trail. This is the type of composition best judged in wear.

The fragrance is indeed rich and expensive, but, honestly, it leaves a bitter aftertaste. If you're a fan of Amouage Interlude, then perhaps this option might suit you too, although they're not quite the same. A friend brought it to me, knowing about my passion for Interlude, but, alas, expectations weren't met. The initial notes are different, and Nabeel's development seems softer, but that doesn't save the situation. It has resins and spices, enveloped in a smoky veil, but despite its depth and density, it doesn't evoke delight. Rather, it's a fragrance that leaves a feeling of heaviness and melancholy
