"White Chinese" is a name that causes bewilderment. It's associated with a drug that has a sad reputation and many tragic cases. The fragrance contains a small amount of alpha-methylfentanyl, and the rest are neutral components like sugar and chalk. The smell really resembles chalk, as well as bitter tobacco and honey collected from withered burgundy roses. The purity of the fragrance is icy, and the flowers seem transparent and nocturnal. The powdery-mineral chalky nuance in this fragrance is unique; I haven't encountered anything like it before. Alessandro Gualtieri's works are always characterized by their roughness, but despite this, this fragrance attracts and surprises with its unusualness

China White is truly a complex fragrance, and both its concept and construction are surprising. Alessandro Gualtieri, creating it in 2008, sought to convey a sense of vulnerability and defenselessness before the world. He wanted to show how fragile we can feel. The fragrance is built on a mineral-musky base. Here, the tannic bitterness of strong black tea and the powdery scent of snow-white chalk with its salty notes are mixed, as well as an unexpected but lively note of honeyed rose. It is important to note that rose in the usual sense is not present here - no sweetness, no berry notes, no citrus nuances. Instead, we have a bitter-tobacco damascenone honey that only emphasizes the woody notes. A floral accord is also present in the composition, but it is not rosy, but rather musky - something similar was used by Michel Almairac in Rose Infernale by Terry de Gunzburg. The musk can be described as clean, soapy, and powdery, with a cosmetic undertone. Thus, China White balances between icy purity, the smell of melted computer boards, and a bouquet of delicate night flowers. This combination is indeed unusual, but, like all of Gualtieri's works, it is executed a bit roughly, without much attention to detail and nuances 🌸

Completely not what I expected. Someone said it was a cold powder, but in reality, it's not just cold, but also terribly dry, like synthetics. The smell reminded me of laundry detergent, and my nose immediately got itchy

From the very beginning, there's a sharp smell of smoke and exhaust fumes. Then, a bright floral bouquet unfolds, interwoven with light notes of smokiness and gassiness. After an hour, only a mineral-musky accord remains. This combination evokes mixed feelings!!

China White is like a floral skeleton, wrapped so tightly in bandages that the sweetish jasmine and rosebuds are almost unheard beneath a powdery layer 🌸 White particles seem to float in the warm air, and it feels as if they themselves create light around. The scent is just crazy! Mostly, you feel sweet powder with musk, and woody notes create an interesting base. It really smells expensive and stylish. And in the frost, it's simply magical! It lasts about 6-7 hours on the wrist, the sillage is noticeable only for the first couple of hours, then it becomes closer to the skin 😔
