Fragrance information:

Aziyade Parfum d'Empire arrived in 2008 — and it was immediately clear this one was here to stay. By character, a unisex fragrance drawing from the spicy and east families. Conceived and brought to life by perfumer Marc-Antoine Corticchiato. The fragrance concentration is eau de parfum.

The sillage is moderate — present, but never overpowering. Longevity is moderate — not too much, not too little, just right. The home of this fragrance is France. A rich, layered composition that reveals itself differently depending on your mood and the time of day.

Description of the composition

The composition of Aziyade evolves as an expressive line of development, where notes flow without rush and without gaps. The creative approach of Parfum d'Empire comes through in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. No excess details, only what works, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de parfum emphasizes the depth and body this composition needs.

From the group perspective the structure relies on Gourmet, Citrus, Fruit and Spicy. It also reaches into Balsamic, Wood and Musk.

As soon as the fragrance opens you sense vibrant berry top notes: Almond, Orange, Plum and Pomegranate.

When the opening settles you meet Caraway, Cardamom, Cinnamon and Ginger keeping a spicy-aromatic direction.

The internal accord map is driven by these accords: Balsamic, Citrus, Gourmet and Fruit forming a compact and readable structure. Secondary accord layers such as Musc, Wood and Spicy expand the olfactory volume in the background. The gender direction is unisex, which clarifies the composition character. For persistence Middle suggests confident staying power.

Taken together Aziyade reads as a cohesive composition — the start forms character, the central phase adds depth, while the drydown anchors the memory.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The opening of the fragrance is simply stunning - pomegranate and sugar create an incredible combination, and the sweetness is so refined, with a slight bitterness. What happens with the scent after the initial notes, I'll probably share in a separate post. That'll be fun! But, of course, this is just my personal experience. Aziyade's opening notes are a true sweet nectar!

The scent really surprises with its richness and beauty. I can't quite say if I like it or not. Maybe it's a unisex fragrance, but it seems more likely to appeal to those who appreciate sweet and spicy oriental notes. Sweetness clearly dominates over spices, and that creates an interesting feeling

On me, Aziyade smells like a sweet filling from old candies, reminding me of cherry or plum. You know, those white oval candies with the ribbed surface. Honestly, the scent is kind of exhausting, I just want to wash it down with something, like tea, barely five minutes after putting it on 😅

This unisex, in my opinion, clearly leans masculine. The scent is resinous and balsamic, patchouli here has chocolatey and earthy notes, you could say it's a classic. Tobacco is also noticeable, and the fruits are so syrupy, but not too sweet. They're not enough to make the perfume more feminine. Now I'm thinking, who among my friends should I give it to? ;)
