Master of fragrances and guardian of the Corsican soul

Marc-Antoine Corticchiato is one of the most respected and distinctive figures in the world of niche perfumery. Founder of the legendary house Parfum d'Empire, he has made a name for himself as a perfumer whose creations are profound, emotional, and uncompromising olfactory journeys. His journey from research chemist to renowned maestro of fragrances is a story of passion, dedication to his craft, and boundless love for his Corsican roots.

From the stable to the laboratory: the beginning of the journey

Born in Morocco to a Corsican family, the young Marc-Antoine dreamed of a career in equestrian sports. However, his passion for the natural sciences prevailed, leading him first to study chemistry and then to the renowned ISIPCA perfume school. His career began not with the creation of perfumes, but with fundamental research: he immersed himself in methods of extracting natural raw materials and even set up a small production facility in Madagascar. This unique experience laid the foundation for his future signature style—a respectful and masterful approach to natural materials.

The birth of an empire: the best fragrances from Parfum d'Empire

In 2002, Cortigiano founded his own brand, Parfum d'Empire, which quickly became the benchmark for artistic perfumery. His first creations — the daring Eau de Gloire and the luxurious, history-filled Ambre Russe — announced the arrival of a new master. Among the perfumer's iconic creations, beloved by connoisseurs, are the sensual Tabac Tabou, the exquisite Cuir Ottoman, the mysterious Aziyade, and the refined bouquet of 3 Fleurs. Each of his fragrances is not just a composition, but a whole world inviting exploration.

Corsican heritage: signature style

The heart of Corticchiato's creativity beats to the rhythms of Corsica, the land of his ancestors. He has created an entire olfactory poem about the island—the L'Héritage Corse collection. It includes the sunny and spicy Immortelle Corse, the invigorating Salute!, inspired by winemaking, the cool marine Acqua di Scandola, and the wild, green masterpiece Corsica Furiosa. His style is bold, detailed painting with scents, where every note, whether it be maquis, citrus, or leathery accords, is written with love and precision.

Recognition and awards

Marc-Antoine Corticciola's talent has been highly praised by the professional community. He has twice won the prestigious Fragrance Foundation France award: in 2015 for the brutally romantic Corsica Furiosa and in 2016 for the complex and seductive Tabac Tabou. These awards have only confirmed his status not just as a creator of perfumes, but as a true narrative artist in perfumery.

Creative collaborations with other brands

In addition to developing his own empire, Corticchiato generously shares his expertise by creating fragrances for other respected niche houses. His portfolio includes work for Italy's Roberto Greco, Paris' La Parfumerie Moderne (for example, the chypre Années Folles), and America's Vilhelm Parfumerie, for which he created the sensual Body Paint. He has also collaborated with brands such as Helios di Corsica, La Maison du Parfumeur, and P. Frapin & Cie Parfums, giving the world, among other things, the vibrant Speakeasy.

A legend of niche perfumery today

Today, Marc-Antoine Corticciatto remains true to his path as an independent creator. His fragrances for Parfum d'Empire, such as the citrusy Azemour Les Oranges or the delicate Osmanthus Interdite, continue to receive rave reviews and rank high among connoisseurs. He is a living bridge between a scientific approach, artistic vision, and a deep connection to the earth, whose perfumes offer not just a scent, but genuine emotions and journeys.
