Description of the composition

The note pyramid of Carlisle is built as a living composition, where layers reveal themselves with precision and warmth. The creative approach of Parfums de Marly is recognizable in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Nothing here feels random, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de parfum supports the depth and body this composition needs.

At olfactory-group level the structure relies on Fruit, Spicy, Floral and Wood. The framework further includes Gourmet and Whiteflower. From a family perspective the scent maps to East, Floral and Spicy.

From the first breath you meet sweet-fresh fruity top notes: Green Apple and Nutmeg.

In the middle phase you notice Rose and Tonka bean holding a velvety rose-iris direction.

The accord profile rests on these accords: Gourmet, Floral, Fruit and Wood without random overlap. Secondary accord layers such as Spicy enrich the profile without taking over. The stylistic positioning is unisex, which makes the scent profile easier to read.

In summary Carlisle reads as a cohesive composition — the start forms character, the central phase adds depth, and the base secures the trail. These are the fragrances best experienced on skin.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

I had doubts about the prices of Parfums de Marly perfumes, but Carlisle really justifies its cost. The fragrance is sweetish, but not in a way that makes you want to eat it. Spicy notes prevent it from becoming too gourmand. Patchouli, in my opinion, isn't entirely chocolatey, but that gives it an interesting character ))

Hey there!!! This fragrance is simply gorgeous, oriental-woody, with notes of tobacco and vanilla, just super!!! 😍 It has "younger brothers" like "Mystery Tobacco" by Carolina Herrera, and by the way, the perfumer is the same - Quentin Bisch. But Red Tobacco is Pierre Montale's creation

What an amazing fragrance this is! It just explodes with gourmand notes, almost making you want to taste it. The citrus opening sounds so bright, but then a dark and rich depth unfolds. Patchouli adds a gorgeous chocolatey nuance, and tobacco makes it so soft and cozy. And the cardamom? It's simply magical, giving the fragrance incredible sex appeal! The sillage is long and simply mesmerizing, and the longevity is top-notch - you can confidently give it a 10 out of 10! 🎉

The cardamom here just explodes, and for some, it might be too intrusive. It smells sharp, with clear masculinity. Woody accents and fresh spicy greens create an interesting contrast, and the cardamom, like a cloud, envelops all of it with its sharp nuances. This fragrance is definitely for the cold season, otherwise, it might just suffocate you ))))
