Description of the composition

The olfactory structure of Constantinople evolves as an expressive line of development, where accents shift with precision and warmth. The style of Penhaligon's is recognizable in details that define the fragrance identity. Nothing here feels random, and the fragrance holds its character from opening to trail. Eau de parfum supports the depth and body this composition needs.

In a unified mixed pyramid the fragrance opens as a single chord with a multi-layered petal mood: Geranium, Iris, Lavender, Moss, Patchouli, Pine and Pink pepper.

The deeper layers are perceived as a smooth transition from opening to trail, which keeps the fragrance coherent.

The accord architecture is driven by these accords: Aromatic, Floral, Wood and Powdery without random overlap. Additional accords such as Spicy expand the olfactory volume in the background.

At the note-group layer the structure relies on Floral, Green, Earthy / Mossy and Wood. It also reaches into Spicy, Gourmet and Whiteflower.

Taken together Constantinople sounds complete from start to finish — the start forms character, the middle layer carries the identity, while the drydown anchors the memory. These are the fragrances best understood in wear.
