Description of the composition

The note pyramid of The Uncompromising Sohan evolves as a living composition, where layers reveal themselves smoothly and sequentially. The signature of Penhaligon's is evident in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Nothing here feels random, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de parfum emphasizes the depth and body this composition needs.

From the first breath you meet cardamom-peppery top notes: Pink pepper, Rose and Saffron. Exactly these 3 notes shape warm spicy pulse that gives the fragrance a clear opening statement.

In the middle phase you detect Labdanum and Vetiver keeping a amber-incense direction.

The accord profile is built around these accords: Balsamic, Floral, Wood and Spicy with each one in a clear role. The profile is masculine, which clarifies the composition character.

At olfactory-group level the profile is anchored in Spicy, Floral, Balsamic and Wood. At family level the scent maps to Spicy and Wood.

Taken together The Uncompromising Sohan sounds complete from start to finish — the first stage creates momentum, the middle layer carries the identity, and the base secures the trail. This is the type of composition best understood in wear.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The smell of rose oil, as if absorbed into old, dry wood. The scent is truly unusual, and although it might seem masculine, I wouldn't want to smell it on my partner 😬
