Description of the composition

The composition of Tangier unfolds as a continuous scent journey, where notes flow with precision and warmth. The signature of Prince Matchabelli is clear in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. No excess details, only what works, and the structure feels complete all the way through.

At the note-group layer the profile is anchored in Fairy, Floral and Whiteflower. At family level the scent maps to Floral.

In a unified mixed pyramid the fragrance opens as a single chord with a fantasy multi-layered mood: No information on composition. Here 1 note sounds as one voice, forming futuristic atmosphere that keeps the opening compact and balanced.

The inner phases are perceived as a smooth transition from opening to trail, which gives the structure continuity.

The gender direction is feminine, which makes the scent profile easier to read. For persistence Middle points to a sustained drydown presence. In diffusion Middle shows the style of diffusion around the wearer.

In summary Tangier reads as a cohesive composition — the first stage creates momentum, the heart develops the core line, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. These are the scent structures best understood through real development.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

In the 90s, I often visited Moscow and constantly bought this perfume. Now, as far as I know, they don't produce it anymore. The fragrance is truly unique, different from anything else on the market. It has a certain bitterness, like the wind, and its sillage is very long-lasting - audible even from a distance. It's a shame they're not available now.
