Description of the composition

The olfactory structure of December is built as a layered story, where notes flow with precision and warmth. The style of Smell Bent comes through from the opening to the final trail. Every decision feels deliberate, and the structure feels complete all the way through.

Without strict stage separation the opening appears as one connected movement with a expressively spicy mood: Ambergris, Cinnamon, Cocoa, Frankincense, Ginger, Orange and Sandalwood. Here 7 notes work as one integrated frame, building piquant dynamism that feels seamless.

The heart and base are read as a gradual shift without abrupt breaks, which preserves the scent identity through drydown.

The accord profile is shaped by these accords: Balsamic, Citrus, Gourmet and Wood forming a compact and readable structure. Background accords such as Amber and Spicy add depth to the backdrop.

From the group perspective the composition is built around Ambery, Spicy, Gourmet and Balsamic. The palette also extends to Citrus and Wood. At family level the scent maps to East and Spicy.

In summary December holds a coherent structure — the start forms character, the central phase adds depth, and the base secures the trail. These are the scent structures best judged on skin.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

A winter fragrance, sure, but not all that unique. A spicy dessert, yes, but it's more like a basic cinnamon and orange cocktail that's been tried a hundred times. Nothing special, just another attempt to create coziness, but in reality, it doesn't warm you up, it's rather annoying. I don't know how anyone can praise it when there are so many other interesting options around 😒
