Fragrance information:

Sonia Rykiel launched Homme in 1999 — and it was a brilliant move. A masculine fragrance rooted in the fern family. The author of this composition is Jean-Marie Santantoni, and that explains a lot. Offered in eau de toilette concentration.

France is where this fragrance comes from — and it shows. Homme Sonia Rykiel unfolds gradually, effortlessly, and with great refinement — a perfect choice for day or evening.

Perfume information

Description of the composition

The scent of Homme is built as a living composition, where accents shift with precision and warmth. The signature of Sonia Rykiel is evident from the opening to the final trail. Nothing here feels random, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de toilette sets the right density and pace of development.

The accord profile is driven by these accords: Balsamic, Aromatic, Citrus and Floral without random overlap. Secondary accord layers such as Wood and Spicy add depth to the backdrop. The profile is masculine, which makes the scent profile easier to read.

Right at the start you detect sparkling citrus opening notes: Grapefruit, Mandarin, Mint and Yuzu.

When the opening settles you notice Fig Leaf, Jasmine, Nutmeg and Violet leaf holding a pure leafy direction.

From the group perspective the structure relies on Citrus, Aromatic, Green and Whiteflower. The palette also extends to Spicy, Wood, Balsamic and Gourmet. At family level the composition sits in Fern.

Taken together Homme reads as a cohesive composition — the opening sets direction, the heart develops the core line, and the final phase leaves a stable imprint. These are the fragrances best understood through real development.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Very conspicuous

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

The fragrance seems quite cold and watery. I can detect citrus notes reminiscent of cologne, and green, fleshy leaves. It's really a typical fresh scent that doesn't surprise. I can't say it leaves a strong impression!!!
