The Body Shop Coconut: A Tropical Journey in a Bottle

Released in 2012, the fragrance The Body Shop Coconut is a refreshing Eau de Toilette that embodies the spirit of sunny beaches and exotic vacations.

Founded by Anita Roddick in 1976 in Brighton, The Body Shop brand has always aimed for ethical and inspiring cosmetics, and this scent is no exception, offering universal charm for everyone.

Since its launch, it has become a favorite among those who appreciate simple yet striking scents that evoke carefree days by the ocean.

Who This Fragrance Is For and How to Wear It

As a unisex perfume, The Body Shop Coconut is suitable for both men and women seeking a light yet memorable accessory.

Its medium sillage provides a subtle presence, ideal for everyday use, the office, or casual gatherings.

It belongs to the fougère family of scents, adding freshness and greenness that contrasts with the sweetness of coconut.

For best results, apply it to clean, moisturized skin, and enjoy its gradual unfolding throughout the day.

This fragrance particularly shines in warm weather—in spring and summer, its tropical notes appear brighter and mood-lifting.

It pairs excellently with light, summer clothing and can be your companion at the beach, a picnic, or an evening stroll.

Since it is an Eau de Toilette, don't hesitate to spray it generously to enjoy the full spectrum of the scent, but remember that individual skin chemistry can affect its longevity.

Description of the composition

Composition and notes of The Body Shop Coconut

The pyramid of this fragrance is built around the key note of coconut, which is present at all stages of development.

Unlike complex compositions, here coconut acts as a solo chord, creating a unified, harmonious image of a tropical paradise.

Its sweet-creamy character smoothly transitions from the initial impression to the final trail, ensuring consistency and recognizability.

This simplicity makes the fragrance easy to perceive and perfect for those who appreciate pure, unadulterated scents.

Coconut here is not overpowered by other notes, allowing one to fully enjoy its natural essence, reminiscent of the freshness of coconut milk and the warmth of sun rays.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

Coconut is definitely there, but it's kind of powdery, you know? And, oh wonder, I even liked it! Not too sweet, and the powder gives it incredible lightness and magnetism

It's just coconut with milk and a sweetish vanilla. Sounds nice and cozy, but honestly, it's only really good for home!!!

It's just baby powder and overripe bananas smeared on varnished wood, with an abundance of coconut condensed milk. The coconut, of course, sounds interesting, but the scent is too sickly sweet and sticky for me. I can't say it's pleasant

Coconut scents, it turns out, aren't just sweet and milky. This one I tried reminds me of the Yves Rocher one, but here there's some cold metallic aftertaste. Honestly, it's too intrusive, you can only dab it on, otherwise your head will ache 😤

The scent is too heavy and chemical, definitely not for everyone. It feels like it would only appeal to a specific category of people. I can't say it's my favorite
