Perfume information

Description of the composition

The composition of European unfolds as a continuous scent journey, where layers reveal themselves with precision and warmth. The signature of Van Heusen comes through in the pacing of the notes and the overall aesthetic. Nothing here feels random, and the composition keeps a clear direction. Eau de Cologne keeps the right density and pace of development.

The accord architecture is built around these accords: Balsamic, Aromatic, Citrus and Wood forming a compact and readable structure. Additional accords such as Leather, Spicy and Mineral expand the olfactory volume in the background. The stylistic positioning is masculine, which makes the scent profile easier to read.

In the first seconds you meet cardamom-peppery top notes: Black Pepper and Ginger.

In the heart you meet Basil, Cedar Needles and Sage keeping a pure aromatic direction.

At olfactory-group level the composition is built around Spicy, Aromatic, Wood and Ambery. It also reaches into Leather. At family level the composition sits in Fern and Wood.

In summary European holds a coherent structure — the opening sets direction, the middle layer carries the identity, and the base secures the trail. This is the type of composition best experienced in wear.

Persistence
The persistence of a fragrance is determined by how long it can be felt. It is a characteristic associated with ingredients that evaporate slowly. Persistence depends on the physical properties of the perfume ingredients—mainly their volatility and environmental factors such as temperature and humidity.

Sillage
Imagine a light cloud of fragrance that, like an aeroplane trail, remains in the air after your appearance. This is the sillage - a subtle or vivid imprint left by the most diffuse element of a perfume composition. The sillage can be almost invisible when it is felt only by you and those around you. Or it can be so expressive that its presence is noticed even long after you have left.

Complexity and depth
The complexity of a fragrance is the number and variety of notes that create a unique composition. A complex fragrance contains many different notes that reveal themselves on the skin. The depth of a fragrance is the richness and intensity of the fragrance. Fragrances with a deep composition include heavy and powerful notes that stay on the skin longer and affect others over long distances.

This scent turned out to be completely ordinary for me. Black pepper and spicy herbs sound like I've heard them a thousand times. No unique twist, just plain commonness. And the longevity leaves much to be desired - as if it's just cologne that quickly fades away. I feel like it leaves nothing behind but a slight sadness
