How to change fragrances by seasons: a guide to weather and temperature

Courrèges is much more than just a perfume house. It is an architecture of scent, the embodiment of "cosmic" minimalism born on the Parisian runways of the 1960s. The brand, founded by visionaries André and Coqueline Courrèges, challenged traditions from the very beginning, offering the world clean lines, white color, and a sense of freedom. Its perfumery became a logical extension of this philosophy: Courrèges fragrances are not just perfumes, but olfactory sculptures, where each note finds its clear place in a transparent composition.
The history of the perfume division began in 1970 with the legendary fragrance Empreinte, dedicated to the first human landing on the Moon. It instantly entered the top three best-selling perfumes in France, proving that Courrèges' futuristic aesthetic resonates in the hearts of millions. An interesting fact: to combat the wave of counterfeits of their clothing, the founders in 1965 signed a contract with L'Oréal, transferring part of the shares to the conglomerate for the development of ready-to-wear, accessories, and perfumery, which ultimately led to the complete transition of the brand under the wing of the cosmetics industry giant.
The philosophy of Courrèges has always attracted the best "noses" in the world, capable of thinking structurally and conceptually. The perfume house became a true creative laboratory for masters such as Alberto Morillas, who created his first work for the brand – the men's fragrance FH77. Also working here were Annick Menardo, known for her dense, sensual chords, and Fabrice Pellegrin, a virtuoso of modern transparent compositions. Through their joint efforts, a unique perfumery style of Courrèges was created: fresh, often with a "white" sound (sandalwood, musk, clean flowers), graphic, and incredibly long-lasting.
It is logical to start exploring the world of Courrèges with its cult hits. In addition to the already mentioned Empreinte, the brand's calling card became Blanc de Courrèges – a manifesto fragrance embodying that very signature whiteness and purity. No less popular is the delicate Rose de Courrèges, presenting the flower in a modern, non-cloying key.
The brand actively develops two key perfume lines. The collection La Fille de L'Air is a poetic exploration of lightness and air, where each fragrance, whether La Fille de L'Air or its variation Iris, plays with a sense of weightlessness. The line Colognes Imaginaires offers a reinterpretation of the classic cologne genre in the signature minimalist style, as in the refreshing Courrèges in Blue.
Despite a series of ownership changes (from L'Oréal to the Courrèges family and the Artémis group), the brand's DNA remains unshakable. The relaunch in 2011 brought Courrèges back to the forefront of the perfume industry, and the release of new interpretations of classic fragrances proved their timeless relevance. Today, under the direction of creative director Nicolas Di Felice, the brand continues to speak the language of clean lines and bold ideas, remaining a benchmark for intellectual, refined, and modern perfumery for those who value not only the scent but also the concept.
