Brand «Jason Wu»

Jason Wu is a namesake brand of Taiwanese-Canadian fashion designer Jason Wu. The future couturier graduated from Parsons School of Design and worked with Narciso Rodriguez and Hugo Boss before launching his own project. A breakthrough for Wu came with the creation of a dress for Michelle Obama, which she wore at her husband's first presidential inauguration. The collaboration between the designer and the First Lady continued, and he also designed her outfit for Obama's second inauguration. Today, the brand is based in New York.

Wu's debut perfume release came in 2017, complementing his existing decorative line. It was the eponymous fragrance by Frank Völkl. The designer created the bottle's appearance together with architect Andre Mellone; the container's shape echoes the design of the brand's clutches, while the cap resembles the clasp on those same bags. The main theme of the composition is jasmine—a scent that reminds Wu of his childhood in Taiwan. The perfume also includes notes of peony, pink pepper, fig, lily of the valley, and musk. The face of the fragrance is model Lily Aldridge.

In 2019, the collection was expanded with the floral-oriental Velvet Rouge. The composition unfolds with peony, rose, and jasmine surrounded by green, spicy, and amber accords. The brand's perfume line also includes scented body care products.
